Look, I know you wanna make this about Sumlin, but you do realize this event has been going on with the same lame double entendre jokes since the mid/late 90s, correct?

Coaches should be fired not suspended. Strange people, strange program, strange community. SMH

Coaches screwed up because they thought looker room humor would fly.

People in need will now suffer, because A&M staff likely won't put themselves out to support charity ever again.

Aggy fans are trashing Baylor fans for defending Briles, but I see them in here sticking up for their coaches who got up in front of hundreds of women and basically told them to bend over and take it. And they put it on a slideshow

Or maybe they'll just own the stupidity and not do it again.

Not very Aggie-ish I know, but cross your fingers.

Surely they meant a clinic for men

I am a woman and I am disappointed in two Aggie Women who think they are fighting the good cause for fellow women. Sexism ain't cool. Agreed. But we live in 2016 and frankly this is my take on the whole situation.

1) From the accounts that I have read the whole thing sounded somewhat exploitative of our players and in poor taste. BUT That's the way chalk talk has been in the past. So we kind of sent a message back then that this behavior was okay. So now as women we are going to get P1$$ed? Um no. [/*]
2) This was a teaching moment for our football team. Seriously. We as Aggie Women could have recognized the clear ignorance of the men present. And we know it was ignorance because there was absolute ZERO malicious intent. Zero. The women could have approached our Athletic Administration and explained why this was unacceptable behavior. This behavior was meant to entertain the women. Not hold them back. The men were clearly mistaken that this would make all women laugh.[/*]
3) Women BEGGED Sumlin and the administration to bring back chalk talk. And then we SH!% all over him because he did not present it in this perfect little presentation wrapped in a maroon Tiffany's box. Mind you the other 90% of the women would probably have never come back again because that pretty little presentation would have been boring as F. As an educated woman I would have been annoyed because I would have wanted to learn more about football logic and strategy. BUT I am also smart enough to realize that not every other woman cares as much as I do. It's a Charity event after all. If Sumlin doesn't leave us we'll be lucky. Thank you ladies for running off our coach.[/*]
4) Now none of us can ever experience Chalk Talk again. If handled probably we could still raise money for the Twin Cities mission AND we could have a reasonably informative chalk talk. [/*]INSTEAD, We shat all over probably one of the best o-line coaches in the country. The man is a Marine and a Football coach who deserves far better treatment. He was trying to be funny and from what I understand he was pretty darn hilarious. He doesn't go through sensitivity training annually like the rest of the men in corporate America. My husband works in a 95% male group and their behavior is a little more relaxed. A Colleague's husband also works with all men and they fart around each other. Point being when men are used to being around men day in and day out they aren't used to being so circumspect. Personally I think this coaching staff deserved better treatment than this.
5) Last but not least Ladies it is this behavior that causes men to lose respect for us when we enter into their worlds. Make no mistake FOOTBALL is their world. We all love it but it is still dominated by men. So when you walk into their "cave" and refuse to play by their rules they want to put a big ole sign up that says "no girls allowed". The ladies today did not offer Coach Sumlin or Coach Turner the respect and consideration they DERSERVED for a direct response. Instead the ladies today EMBARASSED our coaching staff and our school. Mind you Coach Turner is not guilty. Regardless of how sexist and offensive YOU thought the event was, other ladies did not. Other ladies from the past did not. So if you are in the minority, then guess what, you have two options, you can go to the coaches and share your displeasure or you can choose not to return to the event. If enough women feel the same way the message will get to the right people and the event will cease or change its content. There were no women being injured here. No one was abused. No one kept from getting equal pay. No one assaulted. [/*]
If you don't like what someone does TELL THEM. TELL THEM TO THEIR FACE. Give them the opportunity to apologize and make it right before you go to GOT DAMN SOCIAL MEDIA AND SMEAR THEIR GOOD NAMES. Going to Social Media over some perceived injury first in my opinion is cowardly. You are afraid to stand up for yourself so you rally the masses to take down someone that didn't even know they did something wrong. If Women had spoken up in years prior and not BEGGED for the chalk talk to continue I might be on these ladies' sides. But YOU embarrassed your school over something incredibly trivial. YOU Embarassed yourselves and showed us all that *you* do not have your shite together. That you act with your emotions rather than with your mind.

As a reminder what that ring on your right finger means (if you wear it):

The five stars in the shield refer to phases of development of the student: mind or intellect, body, spiritual attainment, emotional poise, and integrity of character. The eagle is symbolic of agility and power, and ability to reach great heights.

Acting without thinking is not exhibiting emotional poise.

Holy shite! That's way worse than the pic in the op.

I can just picture someone at the computer, thinking they're clever and funny as hell.

These seem to be older women that enjoy watching football. They're not delicate flowers looking for reasons to be offended. But those are the last women that you want to patronize with misogynistic jokes.

That's impressively dumb.

And it seems Turner has made some of the same off-color "jokes" about the principles of line play at clinics similar to the one run by Texas A&M this week, with Ben Baby of the Dallas Morning News reporting Turner had worked in the same vein during a previous stint at Texas A&M that ran from 2008 to 2011.

quote:

Sumlin hired Turner earlier this year, well after he was fired for similar issues in Miami. A&M was apparently okay with this specific sort of sexually suggestive humor from him at a women's clinic within the last decade. Perhaps it was really just public knowledge that A&M truly wanted to avoid.

Texas A&M is a really weird place. Always has been. It's the bizarre, racist, bigoted, freakshow culture that has limited their success. They will never win a title in a sport that matters. They don't hate Texas because we are a better academic school in a better town that wins in important sports. They hate Texas because we aren't weird like them.

The worst part is the jokes aren't even funny. They're really really lame. Someone has a terrible sense of humor.
