If the NCAA didn't hit North Carolina for giving out grades for fake classes because it was an "academic" issue, I can't imagine the NCAA getting in LSU for this after they turned tail when it came to Penn State (or Baylor for that matter)....

In a world without salary cap, perhaps.
But this world does have a salary cap and the Saints will be a bit pressed to get under it this year; so I doubt another 7 million in cap charges is something the Saints want to deal with by trading Kamara....
