Because I don't think he did.

No one ever expects a Bama fan to admit their GOAT coach got outsmarted or that he isn't a crybaby. But the rest of the nation knows he is and all the campaigning by Bama fans can't change that.

How about Gus having a better Offensive gameplan than Smart/Saban?

Yeah, that too. Then again there are times that your offense should be able to bail your defense out. We saw earlier this year our defense/special teams bail out our offenses (VT, Colorado St., OM). I think this should have been the offense's turn to show up.
While holding a team to 28 (on defense) isn't ideal, your offense should be able to put up more points than that with a senior heisman runner up, particularly against AU's secondary. Instead, our offense mustered up seven points in the second half.

You're right. It was Gus' offensive gameplan that beat us. Not Cade's missed field goals, missed blocks on 3rd and 4th and 1, CK's penalty after we had gotten down to the 5, etc.

If you throw out things like this, you also must include Auburn's mishaps... Missed assignments in the secondary, an under-thrown touchdown pass from Nick Marshall to RiCardo Louis, an over-thrown touchdown pass from Nick Marshall to RiCardo Louis, a Tre Mason fumble, etc...

It must be both ways.

Both teams made vital mistakes throughout the game.

Do you think AU left any points on the field ? AU DL was pushing bama around in the second half. Bama was on AUs side of the field most of the 4th Quarter, but alot of that was due to two poor AU offensive series. It works both ways.

It wasn't Auburn's players that blocked the FG. It was Cade kicking into the players. We also should ignore the missed FG by our kicker. It wasn't your team's coaching that allowed for CK to make a mistake like that. We also shouldn't count Gus's play calling that got the WR open twice for TDs behind the defense but missed one because the QB and one because the WR dropping it. We should also ignore Gus having the sense to put a guy to return the FG and Saban not putting anyone to cover it. It goes both ways and the points Auburn left on the field were still more than Bama.

AU DL did well. Nuss did poorly in adjusting to the pressure. See how both can coexist? Unfortunately, Nuss wasn't good at in game adjustments. He puts together a game plan, and when it works he looks like a genius. When it doesn't work, he is a deer in the headlights. He has no idea how to call passes to the TE, draw plays, or screen passes to keep the defense honest. It's like he had a spinner in the booth that he would spin at random and that was the play we would run.

What is indisputable is that if we had a decent field goal kicker, we could have won the game. That isn't theoretical points. It is a matter of expecting a senior scholarship kicker to make a field goal from 33 yards. The fact that we couldn't trust him to make a field goal ultimately cost us the game, as we went for it on fourth and one instead of kicking a field goal.

On the bright side, he has no more eligibility left

God love Auburn more than any school. Saban must be fighting God.
