Not reading the whole thread. But that is a safety issue. Too many slow players on the field for the offense. Don't want anyone pulling a hamstring trying to run.

My point is not this past year, but next year. The argument originated in what Saban is going to do to beat the HUNH besides campaigning. I argued that recruiting is one of those things that will help against the HUNH. Another thing that will help is better corners. Eddie Jackson, assuming he will get out of his own way, will be solid by the time the IB comes around next year. He will have an entire spring and fall practice to help his technique. As you've seen, Saban corners seldom ever look good their first year. I also think that one of Cyrus Jones, Anthony Averett, Mo Smith, Tony Brown, and Marlon Humphrey will be sufficient to man the other side. By 2015 I think we will have it on lockdown. If we had better corner play, the two touchdown passes might have been prevented. Let me reiterate that the AU offense did well, and I am not arguing about us beating ourselves, but I am arguing what could be better for Bama next year. If we had better corners, we could have won the game.

Do you think that Auburn put it most talented team over the next three years on the field last year ? Do you think Nick Marshall will be the same passer he was this year,or Gus ran his complete Offense? Do you think this was the best AU can get on Defense under Ellis Johnson? That is the problem with bama fans, they think everyone else is just standing still.

We will chalk that up as #103 in the excuses why bama lost that game

Do you ever think about what could have gone differently in a game? When football is a game of inches, it is common to think of what could have happened had different players been in or different plays been called.
Do you think that about the FSU game? Or do you just think that they beat the crap out of your team and there is nothing AU could have done differently?

Where in my post did I say that AU would remain stagnant? I suppose I should just chalk up another loss to AU next year because you beat us on a last second missed field goal returned for a touchdown. There is no way that the outcome could be different next year.

The difference is that most AU fans blame our own players performance for the loss, where bama fans blame everything else.

Yeah. Thats what most people do listening to Bama fans excuses.

Like it was a gimmick, it was the refs, we beat ourselves, it was close so it should count as a win, look what would have happened if we made this play but ignore the missed plays by your team, etc.

I've only blamed our own performance for the IB loss.

Have I not blamed Cyrus fricking Jones enough for the two touchdowns where he was in coverage? Isnt that blaming my own team?

If that is all your are blaming for the loss, you are in the minority. I heard a bama fan on the radio today say the new rule would be good because the Ref would not be tired and out of position to make calls. He claimed the Lineman downfield Coate's TD as an example of a ref being tired and missing it during the IB.
I have heard about the OL 4 yards downfield more than the "Kick Six" play.

I didnt realize I had to write a five paragraph essay on all of the things that led to the IB loss.

My guess is that would be on your list, and high on it.

On my list? Sure. Just like LSU fans will list the bad call on PP7 interception as one of the reasons that they lost to Bama in 2009. High on it? No. I'd give it about 5% of the reason for us losing. I have a pretty long list that includes a better offensive game plan by Gus than by Nuss, among other reasons.

How about Gus having a better Offensive gameplan than Smart/Saban?

Because I don't think he did.
