I don't like them, so they're overrated.

There are groups that I like that I think are overrated.

The Beatles suck big fat purple hippopotamus dicks, and they are the most overrated group in history.

Oh I agree, The Beatles blow. I don't like them, U2, nor Rush.

Nirvana on the other hand paved the way for a new sound in music, regardless how you feel about them. Were they the most talented grunge band? Not in my opinion. But they brought it to the mainstream. But they didn't kill rock n roll, just created a subset. If anything, pop and hip hop's mass appeal to youth led to its demise. Instead of a Woodstock culture, the Madonna culture took grasp.

Whether you like the Beatles or not, to say they blow is retarded. Their influence on modern music can not be over estimated. I'm not a huge a Beatles fan, but I realize what they did was pretty amazing.

Your first statement followed by the Nirvana comment is pure comedy gold.

Mother Love Bone, or before them, Green River.

I think Nirvana gets unfairly shite on though.

Nirvana was so "influential" they made rap/hip-hop popular among suburban white kids because of their terrible music.

You hypocrite. You can just as easily say exactly what is quoted above but replace Nirvana with the Beatles.

The Beatles are 10 times more influential in music history than Nirvana could ever dream of being. Musical taste is HIGHLY subjective, I know that. I don't care if people don't like things I like, that's life. But I'm curious if the people who say the beatles suck and hate them are only familiar with what's played on teh radio. Their mop top, ed sullivan type pop songs like I wanna Hold your hand and the like don't even barely scratch the surface of what the beatles are about.
