if that happens...the meltdown would be without comparison. We'd basically start from scratch but with Richt still at HC. As much as I defend Richt, if we are starting over at OC and DC, we may as well really start over completely.

That being said, I don't see Pruitt going to aTm.

There's more than a little bit of background noise on this going around. Let's hope it's rumor mill billshit.

Since tomorrow's Tuesday I guess we'll know then....presser at 4...

This would be the litmus test of "program going in the right direction". If no one wants to be here it will show Richt is delusional and needs to be gone.

Jesus, man. That is absolutely terrifying. That being said, I'd rather not even speculate about it at the moment

It'll say more about McGarity and less about Richt. But that's not what you want to hear.

Yea I'm pretty sure Richt wants to keep his guys (I mean I also think he wants to see Bobo succeed as a HC after teaching him for so long but I get that). I also can't imagine Richt liked McGarity throwing him under the bus regarding assistant coaches pay. Basically saying other schools spend a lot on a coordinator and he lets Richt decide how much of the "pool" to spend on each staff member.

I have to imagine Richt is just as frustrated with some of the things that go on. Maybe he has put up with more than he should have though.

It's weird. I think a lot of us kind of figured our athletic department and head honchos were cheap but this year it seems like it's all kind of becoming obvious even to the most optmistic of fans. And from what?

Imo Pruitt calling out the athletic department and McGaritys puppet answers kind of revealed that the schools limitations we feared weren't just true but the AD has no idea why the hell we'd be mad.

For years we, myself most notably, have wanted to blame Richt. It's a lot scarier when you realize it's your entire schools culture and leadership. This isn't sonething you can hope is changed with a bad season. It's pretty much required we have the big donors turn and or the entire fanbase grab torches. We'd have to be like Michigans fans.

And I can't see Georgia fans doing it. Not that we really need to right now. Just if all hell broke loose.

I am too far behind this thread to catch up at this point but y'all need to be on the look out for Billy Napier's name to come up. He is up for the same job at Florida but Georgia is closer to home and a step up from his position at Alabama.

He has experience calling plays at clemson, he was at Florida State for about a month, was assistant head coach at CSU with McElwaine, spelling. Then the last 2 years has been the number 1 recruiter in the country according to ESPN and the Wide Receivers Coach at Alabama. I know the Napier family and I've heard him teach. I think he'd be a great fit as an OC.

No, i hear ya. Financially i agree about McGarity but wonder if assistance don't view Richt as a winner and think twice about hitching their wagon to him.

I wouldn't have any qualms with this. Seems like a good fit. Great recruiter is a plus as well

Yea I think Pruitt calling them out kind of made it seem like the fears/concerns were legitimate. And McGarity's responses basically torpedoed any hope I had that he could handle any big situations that would come up.

I also just feel like there's a different approach than with other teams that make it clear that competing for championships is their goal.

Could you honestly see McGarity coming out and saying "we want to be the best and we are going to hire the best OC out there"? I sure as hell can't. And there are ADs that come out and say and do exactly that.

Acknowledging that it's a problem higher up than Richt is the part that sucks the most because, like you said, that's not an easy fix. I don't even want to think about the miserable years of football that would have to occur before widespread changes were even a consideration.

Richt is one of the main reasons Pruitt is even here. If he leaves it's because of a huge raise and McGarity being a pussy.

What role did this new trendy talking-point/rationalization about McGarity being cheap play in any of our three losses this year? Or in Bobo wanting to be a Head Coach?

Please explain how money or McGarity had anything to do with the losses.

This Place......is hilarious.

Thats like asking how will losing eason have anything to do with a loss in 2017?

A few years back I'm sure there were impact players who moved on to other teams due to something directly related to the cheapness of our AD. No IPF was a big deal for a bunch of guys. Nothing our AD did THIS YEAR affected anything THIS YEAR, but past years affected this year.
