Please explain how money or McGarity had anything to do with the losses.

So...are you saying those losses fall squarely upon the shoulders of Nine-Win Face?

Clarify, please...what is your position?

If Kirby Smart was making $550k a year, would he still be at Bama?

Nope. But I believe that Jefferson is asking what makes McGarity had to do with this year's losses...

I guess it is kinda like asking if a CEO is responsible for one of his divisions underperforming or is it the fault of the division VP? Then you have to decide if corporate policy and budget shortcomings had a hand in the make up of the overall staff for the division and their ability to do their jobs...

It's not hard to see how money ties in to football. It's obviously used against us in negative recruiting. Fair or not, facilities matter to recruits beyond just serving their purpose from a training standpoint. Having additional support staff helps with taking care of the loose ends.

It doesn't just apply to football. If business A is investing more in themselves than business B (assuming business A is doing it in a smart way), which one is going to grow and be more successful?

Billy Napier would be a great pick up and within our grasp I would think.

Wait, weren't some on here wanting Bobo to be gone? Well, you just got your wish...

This would be the litmus test of "program going in the right direction". If no one wants to be here it will show Richt is delusional and needs to be gone.

The program won't go in the right direction until the admin starts opening the purse strings and getting this program on track. They deserve exactly what they got.

Not just purse strings...

Do we beat USC if players are not suspended due to our own, self administered and punished drug program?

Do we beat UF if we have Gurley? If the UGA AA was not worried about their exposure with the Swim Team, do they tell Gurley to clam up and let it blow over like FSU did?

Great point. If UGA starts a death spiral out of this the blame solely rests on the admin's shoulders. Not Richts, not any coordinators. Just the admin.

I never said that....but thats what simple minded folk think whenever somebody criticizes a coach. There's a big difference between "Bobo blew it against SC" and "fire his arse".

In fact almost everyone here has commented that Bobo really has come into his own over the past few seasons. Getting pissed when we do something stupid doesn't mean that somebody should get fired.

Money isn't everything, but it sure goes a long way.

Nick Saban and Les Miles staff's remain mostly in tact because they pony up the cash to keep them. The results speak for themselves.

It goes back to the old saying:

"you get what you pay for"

Anybody who denies that has their head shoved up their rectum.

Edit: I would have no way of knowing if we offered Bobo a raise or not to stay, but I do know that he was highly underpaid for the numbers his offenses produced. I doubt he would have even stayed for a million, but I hope it was put out there.

The defense has been the weakness of this team for a several years now.

Just because one person is at fault, it does not mean others are not culpable as well. I think we just need to be a tad more dynamic in understanding root causes before we point blame...

I promise you guys we'll win just as many SEC championships over the next 10 years as we did over the last 10.

If Kirby smart was DC or DBs instead of running backs coach, would he have ever left Georgia?

Promote Will Friend. He has improved our running game tremendously, he’d also provide stability to current and future players. He lacks play calling, but I think having a former OC at HC, CMR, the learning curve wouldn’t be as steep.

Aside the fact that he's likely leaving, does he have any OC/playcalling history? I honestly don't know. Doesn't seem like you see the OL Coach to OC transition often.

A name that seems to be floating around that hasn't been mentioned here is Kurt Roper. Yes, yes...uf's offense blew this year. But look what they had to work with at every position on O except RB. I was (and still am I guess) really impressed with what he did at Duke. Not sure I'd want him here though, I don't really know enough about him.

Exactly. People honestly believe Bobo did not want to be here? It's about opportuniies and money. Rumore was that A&M offered Pruitt 1.8 Million. Now, I don't believe ANY offers have been officially made, but I don't see Pruitt leavig after one year. (However, he did leave Florida State after one year. THAT may have been more indicative of someone not wanting to be somewhere)
