They need to be in the west and Auburn in the east, tbh....

Never going to happen. First Auburn would squeal like hell. And now, Auburn-Georgia is the best cross divisional game to offer the networks.

But that changes when Bama/Tennessee is played with good teams, or Florida/LSU.

I have said this over and over. Add Virginia and North Carolina, move Missouri to the West and quit.

? ... you think unc and duke will split because of football? ...

I would rather take UNC for the East and Okalhoma for the West. Virginia is a little too hootie-tootie for me.

I was actually surprised at how eager UNC was at the prospect of joining the SEC back when everyone was expanding. I thought that they would stay true to tobacco road, but there was a strong consensus to leave the ACC before Louisville, Syracuse and Pitt were added when Maryland left.

UNC would actually fit the SEC very well. Very southern and they dominate the state. For basketball, UNC, KY and FLA would have some great rivalries in the East. Also, UNC has an advantage against UK in the all time series and playing them every year, sometimes more than once, would let us turn the tables on that.

I doubt Okie would split from the Longhorns.

Slive insisted that the expansion get unanimous yes votes. Bama said they would veto it if they were forced to drop UT. It really came down to that. Auburn had been willing to move east, but it was not really considered because the Bama threat.

Seems like back-to-back division titles are ok by them... (pending the Arky game)

I was living and working in Oklahoma when the expansion mess went down. Okies want nothing to do with the SEC. The PAC 12 or Big Ten, maybe.

But the real problem is little brother Okie Lite.

I honestly believe that if Louisville were just a few miles more north and in Ohio, then they would have been a great addition. Much better than West Virginia (which was never going to happen anyway). But, them sharing the state with Kentucky made it a no go.

They would have been a good cultural fit.

Louisville a good cultural fit? I disagree 100%. It's a city commuter school. Doesn't fit the profile of the SEC at all.

Well I admit I'm not an expert on them. haha. Just seemed like they were always a decent football and good basketball school. Don't really know about their fans/students.

Personally, when I think of a good cultural fit, I don't think of Louisville.

I think of wiggs, fitted hats, and a lot of Jersey wearers. JMO

Just move Mizzou west and play 9 conference games. No one wants to see last week's late November FCS showdown again.

I don't care. I'm just happy to be out of the Bevo-12...
