While the gap between the SEC East and the West is still significant, it isn't as wide as most people thought it was at the beginning of the year. With the right hire at Florida, Tennessee improving, and the Cocks bouncing back, it is very possible that they will only be behind the PAC 12 south when it comes to having the most ranked teams and being the best division in football.

The SEC West may actually be better next year than it is this year.

Alabama will be the same
Auburn will be the same
LSU will be better
A&M will be better
Arkansas will be better
Ole Miss will be better
State will be slightly worse

So, no

Can Oregon fans be more idiotic next year?

Tune in next year after they get railed in the playoff.

If they make it to the playoffs. They still have to face the division champion from the best division in college football. No easy task.

No way State or OM is as good. I don't even think they will be close. Both loosing a lot on defense and their QB's.

Yes.

I think if UGA plays well they could win SEc this year.

Other than Vandy, the rest of the league is at least capable of winning games if you do not buckle up.

A resurgent Florida with Tennessee having a great year would go a long way towards re-establishing the East's cred, especially if South Carolina's defense improves next year.

As for the West, A&M could take a step back, Alabama should be good, Auburn could fall off the map as could Ole Miss, LSU should be better but could end up being just more of the same, State could crater if Merlins and Dak leave. The East could be Beast by next season quite easily.

Ole Miss will return 7/11 starters on defense and have talented guys behind them. They return 8/11 on offense. They will be good.

State will take a step back, especially if Prescott leaves (though I don't think he will).

I agree. Sumlin is cleaning up in recruiting. That should start paying off.

How is Texas A&M taking a step back?

They return 7 guys on offense, including all their skill guys except Kennedy and their defense can't get any worse.
