After thinking about it, my answers are:

1. No.

2. Yes.

I say no to benching Kenny, but Kyler gets a real shot at the starting job next year.

Why no to Snyder? My initial reaction was that our D for the most part held their own. After reeatching the game, Ole Miss went very bland and conservative on offense.

At the end of the day, I just don't see fundamental improvement in our D, and the refusal to send pressure is infuriating.

I feel like we can't blame the D because we really have a talent problem on that side. Some positions are thin, partially thanks to the off season's antics.

The problem is a stacked O is weak. A bench full of four star WRs and only Noil and Kennedy make me not want to throw up.

Agreed, we have way more talent on offense, and I put the blame squarely on the Os shoulders. I was just making the statement that our Ds stats were a little misleading bc Ole Miss went super conservative

Really? Last year's defense would have given up 40plus, easily. Throw in offensive miscues, and OM easily hangs damn near 60 on us in Kyle Field. Think about that. There has been improvement. Not excusing them for everything, but let's not pretend that the status quo hasn't changed. Give is this exact defense last year and we win a natty with JFF on offense.

Frustration clouds comments

I forget that we've lost 4 projected starters on D. We are young. TBird, what are your thoughts on Snyder. If anything, I think it would be good to change the "culture" of our D with a new coach.

Hey, that's natural trust me, I'm frustrated too.

I think we have to be very careful changing for the sake of change. There's something to be said for continuity, especially when it's obvious we're heading in the right direction, with more prospective help on the way in the form of good recruiting.

I think Snyder's defenses need to be solid, not necessarily lockdown. As long as Sumlin is here, our calling card will be offensive prowess (for better or for worse). The other side of that coin is that our defense will be taxed more heavily, either because the offense scores so quickly, or they go 3 and out quickly. People are going to score on us--Snyder's job as DC in this system is to mitigate the damage. I think his defenses are capable enough to slow down our opposition to let our offense do what they usually do. Can't ask for too much more than that without changing our offensive identity, IMO.

Need to run a 4-2-5 or a 5-2-4, not a 3-3-5

No

Can't replace Hill if Allen isn't better than Hill. It's an option, but not a given.

No

I saw plenty of plays where Snyder had guys in position to make tackles and for some reason they just did not attack aggressively. Especially on short passes. Maybe they are just tired right now. But these guys just need to toughen up and hit people. It's not a scheme thing.

But toughening up and hitting people is a direct reflection of the DC, IMO.

I agree, but they were probably beat up from the tough schedule so we didn't practice hard enough this week. It didn't work out. We weren't ready.

I look for them to get tougher going forward. If they don't, then I'll change my opinion.

And Bench any starters that don't give max effort or are outperformed in practice. They have to prove it again now...

After watching the last three games again, I'm more convinced than ever Kenny's struggles are a function of the OL. He hasn't had time to throw and hasn't had a run game to lean on. Our OL, especially the interior, is getting owned at the LOS. Also Mike Matthews needs to learn to snap.

Kyle won't do any better out there and I don't know why people are so certain he will.

Why is the choice Kenny or Kyle? Speedy, one of the only players who still cares and gives 100%, was a HS QB. If he can't make the downfield throws, at least he'll be able to make the short stuff and run, which Kenny's fat drunk arse can't and rarely offers to try to do. It'd be exciting, and at least he'd CARE. We'd still lose, but we'd lose trying and at least put some points on the board, which we don't do anymore. I'd tune in to see Speedy. I'm not watching another game with Kenny and I've seen enough of Kyle to know he's a total fraud.

BJ Anderson should be feeling really uneasy right now. Our online was supposed to be the strength of our team this year and they are getting their arse handed to them every week. Ifedi is pitiful against a bull rush. Cedric should have went pro last year when he was still hyped if he wanted to go in the first round.

Maybe Black Death isn't as hard on them as we think...
