Snyder's defense just looks lost. They do well backed in the redone but they give up big plays left and right everywhere else.

I hate to say it but Sumlin should make a big move and hire Muschamp. 1M a year.

Why is the choice Kenny or Kyle? Speedy, one of the only players who still cares and gives 100%, was a HS QB. If he can't make the downfield throws, at least he'll be able to make the short stuff and run, which Kenny's fat drunk arse can't and rarely offers to try to do. It'd be exciting, and at least he'd CARE. We'd still lose, but we'd lose trying and at least put some points on the board, which we don't do anymore. I'd tune in to see Speedy. I'm not watching another game with Kenny and I've seen enough of Kyle to know he's a total fraud.
This is the dumbest shite ever. Speedy hasn't taken any reps at QB since he got here as far as I know. Now he's gonna learn to QB the system in two weeks because "he played it in HS?" Are we gonna put Kennedy and RSJ on the QB depth chart? They played QB in high school too. So did half our DBs. It's high school.

shite, if you're gonna move someone, move Honeycutt, who at least was recruited as a D-1 QB and won't be missed at his original position on the depth chart.

Yeah I hope that wasn't a serious suggestion

Serious question. How complicated is our offense for players to learn? I know we've executed plays from way more formations than Leach's Air Raid ever did (or is my memory failing me?)

Give them all practice reps and pick the best one. Dumb that shite down to just the Leach Air Raid, which is essentially just 5 plays, and roll. It seriously can't be WORSE than a QB 1 who can't pass past 10 yards and a QB 2 who is so bad he throws a pick in his first few snaps against Lamar, Rice, SMU - and potentially could be better that that crap. Look at OU - they cobbled together a meh season running full-time wildcat with Blake Bell. We could do the same with Speedy.

I have the same sense of dumbfoundedness you have for this suggestion every time someone says we should replace Kenny with Kyle. Everything that leaks out of practice says he's hot garbage. Oh, but he knows the offense. He does? I see a guy who has had a spring and a fall and comes out and instantly chunks up interceptions like he's Gilbert Grape.

He started 8 games. Bell is also 6 6 260 and isn't an incredible WR. Bell was also recruited as QB and threw the ball 230 times in 8 games

Crazier shite has happened.

Its all up to Sumlin but I wouldn't mind the wildcat at this point being heavily integrated unlike before.

I wouldn't mind a package of a few plays a game. Running it full time with a 5 11 180 pound true freshman WR behind a terrible run blocking O Line is going full retard. I mean it's not like we even run the ball well.

Kyle allen was essentially a .500 QB in AZ, with a 6'6 4.5 guy on the outside. I know you don't get rated #1 by accident, but you do from camps against nerf bullets or less. Kyler is the future, I just hope he can grow a little more.

If Allen truly looks that bad in practice then we have to take our lumps with Hill this year and hope Murray comes in ready to beat him out

Kyler is a pipe dream too. He's the future, but the future isn't next year, it's 2016 and beyond. The list of true freshman QBs who have done well in the SEC is pretty much:

- Peyton Manning
- Mitch Mustain leaning on three NFL RBs
- ???

Kyler isn't Peyton and Darren McFadden isn't walking through that door, so the best bet is probably to redshirt Kyler and keep the competition open between Kyle and Kenny. They'll improve.

I'm not necessarily saying we should just start him from day one, I'm saying I hope he comes in ready to compete and push Hill for the starting job (and Allen for reps as well) and doesn't have the mindset of "I'm redshirting". Even if he does end up doing that, both guys would benefit greatly from some more internal competition I think.

The best player should start at QB regardless of classification or experience.

No on firing Snyder. The defense has improved, and it's hard for anyone to recover from the kind of fulmer cup hijinks we had this off-season.

I'd love to replace Kenny but I just don't see it doing any good this season. There are so many other problems with this offense that Johnny kept hidden that it wouldn't do much to improve anything.

Looking back at last year, our oline had the benefit of Johnny's scrambling to conceal any difficulties. Most games the defense of line we faced was playing to contain him instead of actively rushing. This plus the obvious regression in run blocking are some of the main problems with the offense.

I'm sorry, but these numbers don't say "improvement" to me.

These numbers are based on games against FBS opponents only.

Total defense - 14th, 448.3 ypg
Yards/play - 12th, 6.17
Rushing yds/gm - 14th, 204.6
Rushing ypc - 12th, 4.84
Passing ypg - 11th, 243.7
Yds/att - 13th, 8.0 (wow that's horrendous)
Interceptions - 14th, 2
Fumbles - T-12th, 4
Total turnovers gained - 14th - 6

Many of our problems go beyond talent. People are consistently out of position, they attempt arm tackle after arm tackle. These are coaching issues. Unless we turn a huge corner between now and the end of the year Snyder needs to go

Yep. And no gang tackling. Good defenses have 8, 9, 10 people on the pile if the RB is stood up. We have 3 while everyone else stands around watching.
