Why do people continue to think Auburn runs a "gimmick" offense?

Ppl are embarrassed that they got beat by an offense that simple.

Because it was something new that nobody knew how to defend. Old farts called the wishbone a gimmick. It happens. They all come along and eventually get figured out to some degree. frick Auburn though.

Because people are allowed to have opinions.

Because running between the tackles and the read option 90% of the game is apparently unfair

That's in the 10% along with the plays that people would call gimmicky like a reverse or a bubble screen

Because gimmicky carries a connotation that it will only have short lived success.

It provides hope to call it gimmicky.

In truth, it's simple and straightforward, and there is no hope.

I think two current SEC coaches tried to get the rules changed in the name of fairness and safety.

Gimmicky offense?

You finished the season with 2 losses and 6 other games within 1 TD. This does not exactly make anyone jealous.

However, the overconfidence is fine with me. It will be more fun to watch you all....

how do you all say it?

Get Mad....
Rustled Jimmies....
Melt...
insert other overused gay saying here...

Any offense that solely relies on snapping the ball while the refs and defense aren't in position is by definition gimmick. If you want continuous offense, play basketball.

Answer this question: would auburn be effective lining up man to man and not depending solely on hurry up to get yards? The answer is no. Thus, it's a gimmick. See lsu game last year
