I think two current SEC coaches tried to get the rules changed in the name of fairness and safety.

I don't think it was because of Auburn's offense. If I am not mistaken, you didn't even run the fastest plays in the SEC...

Also, they weren't looking for rule changes per se, they just didn't want officials to speed up the game, which they were never supposed to do in the first place...

Correct. I love Gus. He's one of the few OCs that is unapologetic about using a power running attack. Plus, when a play works Gus KEEPS RUNNING IT TIL YOU STOP IT! Unlike that PAC-12 weenie we had last year who would abandon the run at every opportunity and go 4-wide shotgun on 3rd & short.

Love Gus.

Yeah, I mean, why would the only Big 6 team not to even play for a title want that opportunity, right?

Cause all it takes is a stiff dew to shut it down.

LSU didn't have an issue. Les knows his gimmicks when he sees them.

It will be more fun to watch you all.... how do you all say it? Get Mad.... Rustled Jimmies.... Melt... insert other overused gay saying here...

Any offense that solely relies on snapping the ball while the refs and defense aren't in position is by definition gimmick. If you want continuous offense, play basketball.

Answer this question: would auburn be effective lining up man to man and not depending solely on hurry up to get yards? The answer is no. Thus, it's a gimmick. See lsu game last year

Would you agree that Malzhan has one of the brightest minds in college football?

That's something me and some friends have been going back and forth about.

Because people see weird formations and lots of motion and think its gimmicky. When in fact all it does is make defense head spin and then just run the ball straight at the defense. Makes people feel better that this is just some lame fad that will go away even though it is using the same blocking principles and runs that have been run for years just not from shotgun and fast pace

Good thing you only have to win by 1 to get a W. Otherwise, we'd be 5, 2 and 6 last year.

It has more to do with wearing the defense down and getting more plays for the offense, but if you want to think that's the main purpose, go right ahead.

Every new offensive style to come about has been labeled a gimmick until everyone else realizes there's merit to it. Since when has innovation and strategy in the game been so looked down upon?

I disagree. Our OL owned most of the D lines we played last year. I'll give LSU credit for the win in 2013. They jumped out to a big lead by taking advantage of our miscues. We got down really quickly by having really bad turnovers that gave LSU great field position and our defense not being able to stop Hill. Once our offense got settled down, we had 328 yards and 21 points in the second half. We just couldn't overcome getting down so quickly in the first quarter.

Meh, not really. I actually don't get jealous about football period. I am actually just glad I graduated from UGA. Would be disappointed if I only got accepted to Auburn.

Really? Mind sharing where you got that definition? It doesn't seem to appear in Webster.
