Depends how much you can afford to spend on an attorney.

Not good, don't know personally. Knock on wood.

Will cost a bunch of money and time, and you will be treated like a piece of shite, unless you have a good lawyer that knows a piece of crap judge.

Depends entirely on how good your lawyer is.

depending on how wasted the person was, I view it as attempted murder. law of physics says 4000 lbs of metal at even medium speed is a deadly weapon.

$700+ court costs
$300 bail

Knock your probation out quick. That could be $80 every month that you're on it until you get everything done.

That's in LA

several factors

What state you got it in
who you work for
how many offenses

1st one usually just costs you some coin

but 2nd or 3rd could cost you a lot more... lost job ridiculous insur premiums and or jail

Agreed. Call a cab and get the car the next morning.

To the OP, my husband and I would lose our jobs if one was on our record, so we don't drink and drive.

You pretty much have to be an alcoholic that refuses to get any help, in order to be disbarred, if you're an attorney.

It really depends on a lot of things. DUIs are so subjective and the penalties and how people view them totally vary.

You have people like some that have already posted that think it is attempted murder.

Then you have some like me that think dui laws are total horseshite, have nothing to do with safety and do more harm than good.

Cost can range from $1k in court costs and fines to $10k in attorneys, fines, etc.

Some employers don't care if you have one, some probably do but I have never known one that did.

Ftr, I have one I got years ago where I was over the legal limit at checkpoint. Was not much over the limit but they had two double decker car transpot trailers and probably loaded up 30 cars at that checkpoint that night for people they arrested. Also got cited for a dui when I was UNDER the legal limit. Judge threw it out but still had to pay $4k to an attorney. My experiences tell me it is all about the money.

And as for employers Ive worked for large firms in accounting banking, and law since then. Told all of them upfront about it, one during the interview. None cared. Tens of millions have dui's these days because the laws are horseshite just a moneymaker and tax primarily.

Probably about 3-5k and pretty bad if you don't already have a job. Depending on your connections.
