Could not agree more.

Eventually enough people will have the balls to say frick the social stigma and speak up and cite facts. I haven't been ashamed about mine and tell everyone when the topic comes up including employers.

Eventually I think common sense will prevail, similar to pot laws and the horseshite laws we currently have will change to some that make some damn sense such as a higher legal limit and harsher first time penalties for those over .16.

It will take many years though. Special interest groups like madd will use irrational but emotional arguements and the states know dui is a HUGE cash cow right now.

I did and and the research that shows studies to support significant impairment at .08 was funded by madd and the nhtsa.
In the real world, the vast majority of alcohol related traffic deaths occur at .16 and .20 or above. The laws should and penalties should reflect the realities.

That's all wonderful, if police actually wait until you blow a .08 to book you with DUI. They can, and will charge you with a DUI at .00

Texting and driving is still legal in many places, and talking on the phone and eating while driving is legal everywhere. All are proven more likely to cause wrecks than a BAC of .08. Even if you get a ticket for texting and driving, its nothing.

The social stigma against DD (largely due to MADD) has skewed the punishment so that it doesnt fit the crime relatively speaking. Driving at the legal limit is much safer than a dozen other things people do while driving. You never see commercials about how someone eating McDonalds killed a family of four.

Texting while driving, in particular, is way more dangerous than intoxicated driving. LINK

But don't expect the money grubbing whores at the courthouse and at MADD to acknowledge that until they can pull some money out of it.

My issue is with the harsh penalties on the low end of the BAC scale for people that are not driving erratically. That is just horseshite, but it is where most of the money is extorted so that is why it's horseshite.

You're a whiny bitch. Dont fricking drink and drive. Its really that simple. All of your drivel and crying so far and all these statics you have yet to provide a citation for dont mean squat but labeling you as a bitch.

Thats not how it works. You enter into the discussion facts and statistics it on YOU to provide citations to back your statements.

The DWI laws and punishments are not some secret. Its probably one of the most widely known of all the criminal laws. You choose to get behind the wheel of a vehicle after having a drink. Now you are crying about the punishment.

I bet you will think twice about doing it again.

To me that means the laws are working as intended. Tough lesson for you good for the rest of us.

First it works how I say it works.

Second because I am being critical of something that is stupid, I am crying?

Wtf is wrong with you?

Are you too stupid to do anything other than say "its the law"?

Look, being a sheep is fine. People like me need people like you to do as you are told and not question anyway. Helps society function better honestly when you have mostly followers.

So stick to your sheep mentality lil feller.

Nothing of the sort.

Either you favor everything more distracting than a BAC of .08 also being illegal, or you're being inconsistent. You choose.
