I've been reading about that. I'm a fairly skeptical person but this did freak me out.

Possessions are a very real thing

I've been present at several exorcisms

The most accurate movie I've ever seen it portrayed was "The Rite" with Sir Anthony Hopkins, the book that was its base material was pretty good as well I'd recommend if you're interested. It is basically a journal type reading of the most experienced and most respected exorcists still practicing in Rome and one of the only ones the Catholic Church or Vatican rather still recommends to people. Other parts of the world have a much more open view of the ailments derived because of the openness and belief of evil spirits at work and I guess I would say acceptance that it is still relevant. It's a very interesting book

Who's got some good Ghost STories?

I'm not sure I believe in excorcisms, or evil ghosts, or anything like that.....but I definitely believe in ghosts/Spirits.

In fact, two houses that I have lived in were/are haunted (including the one I live in now).....and when I was 15 a ghost known as "The Grey Man" saved my life once down in the Lowcountry.

SOmebody else tell their story first though.

By the way, the only witnesses to the child walking up the wall is the superstitious grandmother who insisted he was possessed, the excorcist who makes money on such beliefs, and a superstitious unidentified nurse... and it wasn't in the hospital.

Yall stop being stupid.

Maybe satan and demons are real, but they don't possess people for the purpose of cussing and spitting and walking on walls. That's just stupid.

I never saw one so bad that a young child walking up or crawling up a wall so I agree somewhat on that but I have seen all sorts of body conforming and contorts only possible with some bones being broken

That link didn't work btw lol

I think you are partially right deeprig, there are absolutely angels and demons that do battle and I believe that is what is perceived as a ghost or apparition and demons can manifest themselves through prior knowledge and appear as ghosts of lost loved ones or in the most aggressive cases can possess a body and there are ranges of possession

Jefferson house I am in now was thought to be haunted when we bought it and I am a person because of experiences and prior knowledge took necessary steps after the activity kicked up to a level where it couldn't be ignored

Have you had any recent activity?

Interesting stuff. I definitely believe in the paranormal.

My pastor recently wrote a book on the giants in the Bible. Basically, they were the product of fallen "heavenly beings" and human women. Because they were neither human nor heavenly beings themselves, their spirits don't have a dwelling place after death, so their spirits are the "demons" that seek to inhabit the living through possession.

Personally, I've only had one experience with the paranormal. When I was about 10, I fell asleep on my couch after getting home late from a laser show at Stone Mountain. I woke up early in the morning and heard some rattling in my kitchen. I looked over the back of the couch and saw... something... floating in the kitchen, pouring cereal into a bowl. It scared the crap out of me and I ducked back down so it wouldn't see me. I didn't hear anything else after that, and a few minutes later, I checked again and it was gone. The bowl was still on the counter in the kitchen with no one around. Couldn't sleep after that.

No. It's pretty well-known ghost in those parts. SOmething about a confederate soldier who was coming home from the War........and he had made plans to meet his sweetheart somewhere on the shore close to where they both lived. WHen he got close, he decided to take a short-cut through the marsh and got caught in some quicksand and died though........ When his fiancee found out about it, she flipped her shite and was so traumatized and hysterical that her worried parents took her further inland to see a doctor............and the story goes that while she and her family were away, a hurricane or some shitstorm capable of comparable destruction came through and leveled their house..........and would have obviously killed anyone that had been there.

And.......so, the man's death actually saved the life of his sweetheart.

And.........The LEgend through the years since tells of many many random people that have randomly encountered this mysterious "Grey man" in different parts of this corner of the lowcountry...........and it always serves as some sort of omen.

Anyway..... I will look any man straight in the eye and with zero self-consciousness or doubt.........tell them to their face that it's real. And that when I saw him it ended up saving my Life. But, I'd prefer if someone else told a story first, before I go into any details...............

Just small harmless playful things.......

Coat-hangars jumping off the closet rack, certain items in the house being moved from one spot to the another when someone leaves a room. Also, I collect obscure decks of cards from places that I travel and it loves to frick with those. Stuff like that.

When I was about 14, I was doing my homework in my bedroom. Two story house that my dad built in Kennesaw. I heard him up there walking around, messing with duct work or whatever it is dad's do in the attic on a random Tuesday night. Distinct footsteps, back and forth, the attic was unfinished, just plywood over the joists. Easy to hear distinct foot steps, back and forth.

I walked down to the kitchen where Momma was drinking pinot and watching the news, and poured myself a tall glass of sweet tea. I said "What's dad doing up in the attic?"

She said "He ain't in the attic, he's out in the garage fixing my car."

I peered out the back door and sure enough, there is dad with his legs sticking out from under the car.

The land is on a hill on large hill facing East over a large creek, Allatoona creek. Any anthropologist with familiarity of the natives in the area know the dead are buried on such hills. Secondly, there was a civil war triage in the neighborhood, a house sits on top of it now, but it was about 8 houses down. Everyone constantly found horseshoes and buckles and buttons, and the occasional bayonet while gardening.

OK.... now your story of the Grey Man.

Start by telling me what corner of the LC you are talking about.

No Thanks. This thread looks like it will sink like a stone, and I have learned my lesson around here.

If other people start telling compelling stories, then I'll share it.

Otherwise, it's not worth it.

Was that back when they played Elvis singing part of "Dixie"......and the lasers would outline Lee, Jackson, and Davis........and then they'd raise their swords and start galluping forward while the crowd went ape shite????

Those were the days, man.
