Well no worse than the Loston hit on Norwood that wasn't called targeting but was called a late hit. Tackling a ball carrier is not targeting though. He didn't launch and rb get hit helmet to helmet all the time.

I don't give a shite whether they call more or less, I would like them to call them across the board for all teams. Auburn lost a player to targeting earlier in the year even after the review, Bama has had what? 3 or 4 targeting fouls get turned back with no ejection and then this no call? I just want to see a level playing field.

Seriously though, the refs have been throwing the flag on plays like that 100% of the time this year. Whether you believe in the penalty or not, that is the truth.

Wasn't that the one that they at least called the last hit? This was not flagged at all.

Well, he hit him in the chest with his shoulder and his feet were on the ground when he hit him. Maybe hitting a defenseless player, but not targeting.

But it was close, and it was extremely violent. My point is they have been flagging that play all year long.

So many of you people are so damn stupid it's mind boggling. It was a kick off not a punt. Therefore live ball since there was no fair catch called. Also the ball had bounced. Had a Bama player grabbed the ball it would have been Bama ball.

This was no difference than an inside kick.

I actually heard on the radio the other day (maybe Jack Arute's show?) that refs have quietly been told to not call it unless they absolutely have to, as opposed to earlier in the year when they were calling anything even close. The fallout is creating too much negative press for them.

I'd like to see the numbers of targeting calls per week. I'd wager it's dropped in the last two weeks.

and I am fine with that except that it gets called on anyone else in that situation.

I'm a State fan that hates the rule. I thought it was a good football play. I particularly liked Jim Ross and the King;s call on WWE TV.

You've obviously never read Rule 6-4-1...

KCI does not require a signal of any kind. In addition, there can be KCI without contact if the kicking team player is within the width of the receiver’s shoulders (to either side) or within one yard in front of the receiver.

When in question, it is a foul....
