So the Alabama targeting play last night

So I'm sure this has been discussed to death here, but I don't care.




Was there seriously no flag here? Can anyone explain this away?

Is a PR who fails to call a fair catch considered a defenseless player? As far as I know, he isn't.

I thought it should have been flagged. The only thing is he used his shoulder. Not much consistency to those calls.

Lets be honest the only reason they didn't call it is the same reason Dial didn't get flagged.

I honestly don't know. The rule is so damn subjective that it's ridiculous.

That play certainly looks like the type of play they want to eliminate. So did the hit last week by LSU on Kevin Norwood. Neither were called despite being clearly seen. Then there are examples of light contact being flagged against UGA.

Just a ridiculous situation.

Targeting is specifically "above the shoulders". If you think that was above the shoulders, I don't know what to tell you.
