Ya'll just don't know how good you have it. You really don't. Every week is a bowl game, and every game has just so much riding on it. You don't know because the SEC is all you know. There is a different level of excitement, play, professionalism to this league you can't see unless you've been on the other side.

Every Saturday was Christmas this year.

When you say " old " members....remember that Ga Tech and Tulane were both in the SEC until mid/late 1960s and both opted out for academia reasons (plus Ga Tech didnt like Bama).

I agree. As a Kentucky fan, I love SEC football even with the beatdowns we receive on a regular basis. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

We do know. We watch other conference's football games and they just don't seem to matter at all.

Everyone should feel bad for Tennessee.

Tulane got out for Academic reasons? To go to a even worse academic conference? Beside Rice, C-USA academics are nothing to be proud of.

I thought Tulane left more because they didn't want to emphasize athletics as much as the other SEC schools.

We know exactly what we have. We're just used to the excellence.

A&M gets it... even with their strange cheerleaders.

Missouri needs to enbrace the culture and commitment to excellence. Missouri may be better off in Big 10.

I will enjoy hearing A&M chant SEC after beating down their bowl opponent.

Tulane wanted to de-emphasis athletics. In 1951 Tulane hired Rufus Harris as their new President. He thought Tulane spent way too much on athletics, so he cut football scholarships from 100 to 75 and reduced coaches salaries. They also would not allow certain classes to count towards a degree, which hurt marginal students.

Tulane could not compete with everyone else after 1951, after these changes, so in 1966 they quit the SEC. They wanted to drop out of Division 1 completely, but just left the SEC.

nah. Mizzou will get there on the field and I bet they were happier than a puppy with two peckers this year for the games.

I don't know if ANY SEC team could handle the injuries that Mizzou's O line had. Just unreal.

I suppose they can only go up, so they've got that working for them.

good post op

but in reality. every time we shout SEC SEC SEC at the top of our lungs, we are telling the rest of college football they dont have what we do. we know they dont have what we have. and deep down inside, they know it too.
