have you ever turned off/left a game too soon?

one of my friends, a tennessee fan, turned off the UT/LSU game in 2010 a moment too early....after proceeding to happily post about their "victory" on facebook, he then called me about it & i was like "uhh, you better get back in front of your TV, and fast"....yeah, it was probably his most embarrassing (and gut-wrenching) moment as a football fan
have you ever given up on a game, only to discover the outcome turned out differently than you expected?

Yeah. Thank goodness it was UAB/Southern Miss. The year the last few minutes resulted in about 3 TD's after a really boring 57 minutes before.

You know that feeling where your team is getting annihilated and you accept that fact midway through the game?
I did that Iron Bowl 2010, and I very seriously can say I was so numb by the end of the game that even though I was screaming my voice out like a redneck I have to remind myself we won.

Yeah, I missed the best part of the BSU/Oregon game at the very, very end.
Too bad I was in Idaho dressed all in duck gear.

Well, can't say I have ever left too soon, but I came very close. It was the 92 SEC Championship game between Bama and Florida. (was cold and miserable). Figured Florida would just run the clock out but an interception changed everything.
I will say I had some friends at the 2010 Iron Bowl (Auburn Fans). Decided to leave before 1/2 to go watch the rest in the quad because they were pissed.

I have to say, if the shoe was on the other foot, it would go down as one of the greatest victories I've ever witnessed.
Hard to take, being on the wrong end of it. I believe our low was about as severe as your high.

My son and I left the Auburn vs Utah State game in '11. I told him that even if we came back and won, we didn't deserve it. We got about to the Lowder Building when we got the on-side kick......

I almost turned off the Manchester City game on Sunday morning, but I'm so glad I didn't.

years back, my friend (an FSU fan) scored some tix to the FSU/UF game in tallahassee, and invited my friend (a gator fan) and i. even though i had no dog in the fight, i said sure, why not. my gator buddy left the game early so he can get a head start on some victory brews. after all, it was the 4th quarter & 31-3 in florida's favor. long story short, the game in question was the infamous "choke at doak", where the game ended in a 31-31 tie. needless to say, my UF friend kept drinking, but for entirely different reasons....

Never in my life have I left a Mississippi State football or basketball game early. Stay until the end no matter what is happening.

same here. however, one time i DID have to leave early b/c i was going to a NYE concert (WSP, '96)...even though auburn had a sizable lead when we left, i knew that since terry bowden was at the helm, anything was possible. i talked to someone who showed up later & said auburn won, but army stormed back & nearly pulled it out...whew.

That Clemson/GT game back in the mid 2000's ('04 I think it was [Swoopin, you'd probably know for sure]) the one where CJ had the great catch and Clemson's long snapper went full retard...I was watching it with some friends, one of whom was a Tech student, and he got pissed after that long touchdown run and went into the bathroom to take a shite. When they rolled that snap past the punter we were all hollering for him to hurry up and come out but he thought we were fricking with him. When he finally came back out after the game was over, he was really pissed that he had missed it.
I never turn games off. Even when they turn to shite I force myself to watch so the anger builds up; it allows me to write AWESOME drunk e-mails to our athletic director. I'm like the Shakespeare (more like Christopher Marlowe, amirite?!) of drunken diatribes. I don't write angry e-mails, I write prose.

I've never left a game early and I never will especially after 2010.

I left the 2010 Tenneesse/LSU game early with UT ahead. Missed the best part of the game. Heard the roar of the Tiger Stadium crowd a mile away
