turned off the UT/LSU game in 2010
I did the same thing and went to bed mad as hell.
I was walking down the ramp leaving a Rangers game back in the 90's and heard the crowd going crazy over Juan Gonzales hitting his third home run of the evening. IGOR!

Happened to me twice (as far as leaving a game.)
First time it happened we were playing kU at Arrowhead in Kansas City and we were down by three with a little over 2 minutes to play and they had the ball. I figured we were done for and left to beat traffic. I heard a loud roar right as I got to the car (it was a pro Mizzou crowd) so I turned on the radio and heard we had gotten a safety but we were still down one. We put together a drive on the ensuing possession and kicked a game winning field goal as time expired right as I was driving through downtown KC.
The second time it happened to me was my first time ever going to a Mizzou game at Faurot Field. We were down 4 to San Diego State (yes I know, sad) with a little over a minute left. I was unbelievably pissed so I ripped up my ticket and left with about a minute and a half to go. As I was walking back to the car I heard the stadium erupt so I hopped into somebody's tailgate tent to hear the call on the radio that we had just scored the game winning touchdown with about 45 seconds left.
Maybe I should stick by my team till the end seeing as they've fooled me twice.

Blue Grass Miracle . Said f-it and turned it off at about 30 secs left.
Watched it in Ben's Half Yard House with the LSU Alumni group. The couple that met my gf and I left before it was over. Called them as they drove down Greenville Avenue and let them know the Tigers won.
Ben's went nuts like a mini-Tiger Stadium on that play. Celebrating with a couple of hundred other LSU fans was a lot of fun. Any of you guys who move to a metropolitan area outside the state should attend a few of the alumni watches. I always have fun at the ones in DFW. LSU Texas A&M will be a great one for any year I can't make the game. You know some Aggie fans will be there.

Wasn't that in 02? lol I remember flipping my couch over when UGA won. We would've won the East had they lost.
No, that was 2001.

Left when Jacksonville State tied the game up in the 4th. Best decision I ever made. I was glad I was not there to see the end to that game.

Left the 1990 Auburn/Southern Miss game with Auburn up 13-0. It was a boring as crap game. Got back to my appt and turned on ESPN and Favre brought SM back to win 14-13.

Not to be too mushy but I do my best to stay at the game win or lose. I figure if our players are still out there giving it their best shot, I should be decent enought to stay and support them.
However, I will turn off a TV game in a hearbeat if it starts to get ugly for us.

I went outside to shotgun some beers and yell obscenities during the Auburn vs Utah St game, after my second one some chick who was cooking told us we had to come back inside. We were reluctant at first because we thought she wanted help. It was just in time for the final td.

I almost turned off the LSU game last year but kept watching for some reason. lol I got all excited when we scored a td and made it 27-11. "We got us a game now!!!"

have you ever given up on a game, only to discover the outcome turned out differently than you expected?
Easy answer, no. My father taught me to never leave a game early. Just ask my wife and kids. We stay through the Alma Mater no matter what. I've thought about leaving before but just can't bring myself to it.

On November 9, 2002 I was preparing to go to my grandmother's funeral service. Kentucky had just kicked a field goal to go up 30 - 27. I watched the ensuing kickoff and the short pass to Michael Clayton to put the ball at the 26 yard line. I then shook my head and went into the bedroom to get dressed when I heard the announcers freaking out. I walked back out to the living room to see what happened and found out I missed the Bluegrass Miracle pass from Randall to Henderson.

I've never left a game early, but my stepfather was leaving the '98 Tenn/Ark game early when he heard the stadium erupt... Rest is history.

LSU didn't do anything different than they did in the first 3 quarters. You didn' miss much.
