Making it easier for students to walk back to the Grove was a bad idea.

The section should be reduced. Sell those tickets to those of us that missed out on tickets this year. Students that want to stay in the Grove should and let real fans into the game.

I couldn't make it back this week and was watching the game from home. Looked like absolute shite from start to finish on TV.

So have I, hell I even get to the gates before anybody else does

I mean though honestly what are y'all expecting I wish our student section was better but a lot of our student section has always been late arriving/early leaving (a.k.a. dogshit) it's not like this is some new thing that's just starting this year. It's just more noticeable now that the students aren't hidden in the right hand corner of the stadium.

You're correct, it's been an issue since forever. I guess everyone was hoping that our team actually being good, having a new stadium, and playing a revenge game would change things. As someone stated earlier, I wish they had to sit through the Nutt years so they could really appreciate our team now. As you said, the new layout just makes it look worse than it did in previous years. It was quite the embarrassing eye sore on TV.

On another forum they are discussing what we need to do to change the culture so that students get excited and fired up for the entire game...there's no quick fix, but we need to start somewhere.

I wonder if there is a way to incentivize staying longer? Do other schools do this?

We basically give the tickets to them now for what $150? I'd propose giving the tickets to them for free and charging them based on how long they stay. We could have them badge out as they leave. And do something like $80 if they don't show up or leave in the 1st, $60 if they leave in the second or half, $40 if they leave in the third, $20 if they leave in the fourth, and free if they leave after the game is over

We'd undoubtedly make a little more and the few that didn't buy tickets weren't the type of fans we'd miss anyway. Plus we could sell their tickets.

Would this ever work?

I didn't realize how bad our section was until I saw that we couldn't fill for the Georgia game. I mean, that was a top 25 matchup.

Tickets are 130$ for the whole season and how about just make it free if you stay the whole game and not free if you don't stay the whole game. This idea will never work but it is an interesting one.

The student section was basically full and rocking pretty good during the first half Saturday. It did thin out considerably after halftime. Maybe that was a combination of it being homecoming, Memphis and that we were wining 24-7 even though we all know it tightened up briefly in the third.

It looks fricking terrible up in the north endzone. I don't understand how they can't wait 3 hours to get back to the grove. Bring your liquor in like the rest of the world does and appreciate that you get to watch a good team while you are in school.

Too many of them dgaf about football. They only care about the social scene. As soon as it's socially acceptable to leave they bail.

Again. I've said this before and I'll say it again. I got kicked out of the student section of from the Bama game 3 years ago because I was being "too loud"

frick them. The students blow donkey dick.

They couldn't get up early enough for the Georgia game.

They partied all day for the Memphis game and got tired watching the blow out. Many don't know much about football.

Also realize, we have many out of state students who will go home over the weekend.

Shrink it down and sale general admission seats in the corners. Put the band behind the goal post. Make the tickets harder to come by and maybe they stay longer.

It's early in the season, maybe they just haven't learned to pace themselves, yet.
