Like I said, I am OK with our beat writers not bringing it to light, even though several have mentioned it a few times throughout the past year.
I'm not OK with them telling us bullshite that is simply not true. The reason our fan base is getting pounded after this second report came out is because we were telling everyone only 3 citations are from football and shite like that.
If they are unable to report the truth, just tell the people that pay you that they will need to wait on the official release from the school for specific details. Don't just throw out the number 3 because it sounds good.

Any word on how the 2016 class is taking all this?

5 Tunsil (not involving current staff)
How could that be possible?
Posted on 2/10/16 at 2:18 pm to TheCaterpillar
Tunsil did this on his own, staff did not help him. Staff is not responsible.
Since Rosebowl receives the NOA today, I hope they just release it to the public on their website. Do not let SR control the message.

What I meant by that is the staff was not involved in the violation. Tunsil did violate the rules and he was suspened for it. Now from what I have heard that is were it ends. The example I heard is Todd Gurly at UGA was suspened for rule violation and UGA recieved no sanctions unless I missed it. But I could be be way off base.

Ah, ok, I took it a different way. Carry on.

I guess RoseBowl (AKA MadameButterFly) is back at it again on his podcast. This is what a State fan posted over on the Scout Forum (AKA ED Lite):
quote:
He said that more allegations are coming and they are football only. It will either be a second letter or an addendum added on to the first letter and he was 100 % positive on it. He also said that NCAA investigators were in town interviewing players and prospects as recently as 2 weeks ago and he knows this because they were interviewing prospects from the class that just signed last week (basically calling Bjork a liar for saying the investigation was over). For someone that's batting a thousand during this investigation, I'd say what he is saying is pretty likely to happen. He isnt just making things up as he goes or taking The ole miss party line. He is doing what the people that cover ole miss should have been doing for months. Real reporter work. You can argue whether or not he has an agenda or whether he should be doing what he is doing, but you can't argue that what he is doing is getting the truth up to this point.

Yes he has an agenda. Why else would he be doing this?

okay, I've been out of the loop with mardi gras the last 5 days. are you guys actually in any sort of meaningful trouble, or is the rant just trolling with nothing of any substance to go by?

Per Red Cup this is the 9 allegations under the Hugh Freeze
quote:
A coach contacting a recruit during a designated non-contact evaluation period.
Creating an improper recruiting video outside the locker room.
A booster illegally transporting a recruit to campus.
A stepfather of a recruit having his lodging paid for during an official visit (a rule that has since been changed by the NCAA).
Five violations for the Laremy Tunsil scandal, including use of a loaner car and spending the night at the house of an Ole Miss assistant coach.
So take away from that what you will. Also it's tRant when aren't they trolling with no substance?

No NOA and No LOI.
Response on the NOA is that it is not present on the campus and was delivered to outside counsel.
No explanation on the LOI. I will follow up on that. There shouldn't be any privacy concerns with that document.
Most of the documents involve the self reports, suspensions and reinstatements.
A lot of these issues were uncovered during interviews with the NCAA enforcement staff and not issues uncovered by the University as some have suggested.

Yeah, I have had more death threats than apologies.

Summary
May 8th, 2014: Assistant coach had impermissible visits with two recruits in Nashville, TN during the spring evaluation period. Reported directly to the NCAA by a third party. NCAA enforcement staff and University interviewed the coach.
November 1, 2014: A former OM and then NFL player had contact with a recruit during the pre-game activities prior to the Auburn game in the IPF. Pictures taken and posted on social media. Reported to the University by the SEC office.
December 2, 2014: A few out of contact period phone calls, texts and assorted issues with contact. Uncovered by University during routine phone bill review and report from assistant coach.
February 10, 2015: Some pocket dial and phone call related issues. Uncovered by University during routine phone bill review.
February 18, 2015: More accidental phone calls during non contact period. Uncovered by University during routine phone bill review.
April 27, 2015: Student athlete spent 18 days on his teammates girlfriend's couch after being evicted from his apartment. This was considered a benefit and the student athlete had to repay $270. Violation uncovered during interview with NCAA enforcement staff.
June 29, 2015: More phone and call stuff. Uncovered by University during routine phone bill review and report from assistant coach.
July 9, 2015: A student athlete was deemed a qualifier due to a clerical error by campus staff. NCAA later ruled him a non-qualifier. PSA withdrew from school and had to repay financial aid received. PSA completed coursework necessary to raise his GPA and was granted clearance on July 29th.
August 10, 2015: Student athlete received impermissible use of a vehicle. In April of 2015, SA's vehicle was vandalized. A loaner vehicle was provided by the repairing dealership and not returned until August 10th. SA asked to pay cash to charity for value of the benefit. SA also required to miss 20% of scheduled contests. Violation uncovered during interview with NCAA enforcement staff.
August 21, 2015: Clothing company "Timeless Generation" used photos of student athlete on their website and social media postings. Violation uncovered during interview with NCAA enforcement staff.
September 25, 2015: The father of a student athlete attended an alumni dinner and did not pay. SA paid $50 to charity. University uncovered violation.
November 21, 2015: Another prospect took a picture with a former player in the IPF before the LSU game. Pictures taken and posted on social media. Reported to the University by the SEC office.
So what does all of this mean? Not much other than the typical self reports that go on at just about every University in the country.
It is worth noting that a player was suspended for a loaner vehicle for 20% of the contests. Considering that Laremy Tunsil missed seven games, that must be another player.
Other than the phone calls and the alumni dinner issue, the other violations were reported by either a 3rd party, the NCAA enforcement staff or the SEC office.
Not much meat here in the self reports. It also does not appear that any of the Tunsil reinstatement documents made the trip. Those issues are expected to be mentioned in the initial notice of allegations. It is interesting that the other player's loaner vehicle issues were included. He's also a player from a city roughly three hours from Oxford and his father reportedly tried to arrange a rental car, but had some issues getting things settled due to the age of the player. The loaner car was provided by the dealership.
So no NOA and no LOI. They once again acknowledged the NOA in their response and say that once the University's answer is ready for submission that they will release the NOA and the answer for review.
