I don't believe the NCAA "approves" the school's self imposed sanctions until all cards are on the table. The school presents a case, asks Indy what other sanctions have been issued in similar cases, and then tells Indy what the school will now do, based on all facts and conclusions.

High success rate that the self-imposed will be accepted, provided continued cooperation will the totality of allegations.

One thing is for certain. If you are paying for any OM subscription, you are getting royally screwed. Our beat writers don't know anything and their sources are trash.

I'm sure they'll come out today and say "oh I had heard that number...blah, blah, blah. Reality is they were dead wrong in the majority of recruiting and have been horribly wrong with every NCAA issue since it started with Tunsil nearly a year ago. Take that money and drop it all on black if you're gonna throw it away...

I don't have any subscriptions but I really don't recall any Ole Miss beat writer really address the NCAA matter.

I always heard around 5 accusations involve the current staff.

Now the breakdown is

4 from Nutt (Saunders)
5 Tunsil (not involving current staff)
4 current staff and most self reported.

Not horrable and I'm sure Ole Miss wants to control the release of information.

But I don't pay for any sites.

Every OM beat writer alluded to it being nothing to see here. 13 violations is more than nothing to see. Wanna say it was Chuck who said 5 violations initially with non being major.

While I don't expect anything crazy to happen, it's been a horrible year for the beat writers and their sources. They failed on Tunsil, NCAA issue, and recruiting. The only thing they got right was AJ Brown.

Chuck's been on it and missed horribly. He back tracked yesterday and said he "misunderstood" his source or some bs.

Basically, the entire sec (and rant) is waiting on some punishment to come out and for us to melt. It's gonna come out and end up being pretty minor( we think) and then they will all melt because we "got away with it", which should be just as entertaining and will probably result in me getting banned for calling people kunts

I would not say he is a clown, but it is a bummer about the lack of information. I do subscribe to the Spirit and they have been getting my money since the late 90s. It has become essentially a state sponsered media organization. They only release what is allowed by UMAA.

I understand why they have this relationship, but at the same time moments like this annoy me. I hate the free Rant being well ahead of the paid subscription. It is why I quit paying for a few years, but I got sucked back in this recruiting cycle.

I agree. I like Chuck, and I think he is regarded as the voice of the fan-program relationship, but I don't like when he says that he is not aggressively pursuing this story (as he said in an update last night). That's odd and bit disconcerting

At least Chuck admits he's a fan sometimes.

Sounds good to me.

Neal and Gang are eluding to the fact that we undersigned these last few classes and that was part of self imposing sanctions on ourselfs.

It is being brought back up because more specific details were released. More allegations were pertaining to the football program than we were originally told and people are concluding the severity is worse.

All the pay sites either got bad info or undersold just how many and the severity of the allegations.

You are exactly right. "Inside" information has been complete trash.

DJ @ 247 never brought up allegations until after the first report came out. I'm OK with that, but he said his sources told him only 3 were aimed at the football program and all pre-date Freeze. Now it's 13 with the majority during Freeze's tenure? Come on man. I don't care how "serious" they are. That's terrible.

I don't blame any of the beat writers on the recruiting misses though. They can only tell us what the coaches know. If a recruit has been telling our coaches they are a rebel for over a year, they believe it. Recruiting is a different nut than it used to be. The fans weren't the only ones who got played on NSD. Our coaches were played too.

Exactly. So when these guys say oh its nothing...I'm thinking this guy hasn't been right about anything.

Most forget they all started off acting if Tunsil would miss one or two games. Its ok to say, hey I don't know.
