Wow, and I thought I was pessimistic. We first bashed the guy for not having the guts to fire assistants and now that he is cleaning house, we are already complaining about his picks despite the fact that we don't know who they are yet.

Almost none of us knew who Hugh Freeze was (despite him having been on staff) before he was hired as head coach and even fewer knew anything about Wommack or Werner. Coaches improve (or get worse) and make a name for themselves. A little positivity goes a long way. It's sure as hell better than being negative all the time like some.

People are going to bitch about something. Good times or bad.

Like the saying goes, it's never as good or as bad as it seems.

Plenty of people knew who dan and Dave were. Werner had even been at ole miss before.

Has anyone pointed out when they think the replacement will be announced? If Hugh already knows who it is, why won't they announce ASAP to start recruiting?

Hugh Freeze will whiff on the OC and DC fires like he does on linebacker recruiting and the football team will have neither next year.

Not sure we want Longbo if we want to get highly ranked skill players to come to Ole Miss. That offense won't prepare them, especially QBs, for the NFL.

Is Sonny Cumbie or Kendal Briles out of the question?

I like Phil Longo and think that he would be very successful right now at a Group of 5 school but it is incredibly difficult to make the jump from OC of an FCS team to OC of an SEC team; especially for someone who has never even spent time working or playing inside of an FBS program.

He might be successful for someone but I don't want to be the school to risk everything on him. There is plenty of evidence of huge risks like these working out for the hiring school, but look at the percentages - they are far outweighed by the ones who are unsuccessful.

Ben Garret just said Longo is a leading candidate.

Bears pointed out something earlier saying that his system will not prepare the players for success in the NFL, which blue chips and high stars will not like.
