Yea buddy I'm not Sorantable. I already had to prove to a dude on the OM sports board I was an Ole Miss grad, by taking a picture of my diploma. I can prove anything you want, when it comes to me being not only a legit Rebels fan, but an Ole Miss alumni.

You're a fool.

Don't take it to heart man. That bitch HFO will go to his grave believing I'm an alter.

Even though I go to Ole Miss, I'm "clearly a terrible troll and alter" and "not a real fan because I never say anything positive"

I'll try and steer this conversation back the other way.
If we have to replace Freeze I wouldn't mind taking a shot at Lane Kiffin or maybe seeing if Jeff Brohm or DJ Durkin might be interested. I also wouldn't mind the obvious names like Lincoln Riley, etc...

I'll tell you right now we don't need and shouldn't want Kiffin.
If Freeze is gone (I don't think he will be, though) we should go all in for Chip Kelly.

I don't think Joey Freshwater could handle the girls of Oxford AND coaching, it'd be a bad idea.

The Owlette welcoming committee in Boca isn't too bad either.

In other news, how would Ole Miss fans feel about Mark Hudspeth if Coach Freeze were to be fired?

MS native. Delta State grad. Good ties from North AL, to MS, to Louisiana. Relatively successful coaching career as HC and OC.

He just lived through the investigation of the former ULL regime and was cleared of any wrong doing.

Expectation management being what it is given the difficulty of success during significant probation, I think he'd be a great choice.

Solid coach to simply guide the program through what could be a very tough time... outcome pending of course. Certainly a better choice than Bama made with Price and Shula when in a similar situation.

If you don't think he knew exactly who he was hiring and why he made the hire then I have some ocean front property in Iowa to sell you. Everyone in SEC recruiting circles knew about Wayne County and if you check into the records you would be shocked at some student athletes that attended other SEC schools took their ACT there.

Freeze hasn't done anything in recruiting that others are doing. What he has done is beat bama, LSU, Georgia, Tennessee and Auburn. It's been a long time since an Ole Miss coach can claim those wins.

So what if they are hot and heavy after Freeze. Why would you get any other coach that would only use Ole Miss as a launch pad. And who thinks after 3 years of reduced schollys and plus 25 recruiting ranking a different guy is going to step in a right the ship?

Ole Miss doesn't need to cower to the NCAA because they found $60,000 worth of infractions, because of a couple of boosters that got involved with a coach who wanted to keep his job. They just need to play that off as a couple of desperate coaches who have since been let go and move forward.

Ole Miss won't win any favor from the SEC or NCAA for getting rid of Freeze and they sure in the hell aren't going to put themselves in a better situation with another coach.

Nobody has done more with less in the SEC than Hugh Freeze, the next guy is going to have to do it with less than he had and if he gets a chance to jump ship to a bigger sec school, he gonna take it. Pine box and all.

Ole Miss needs to get back on track by winning this season. Keep a bowl ban to one year. And in 2018 make a serious run at the SEC title. That will pick the recruiting back up to where it was and put Ole Miss in a much better place than any other coach is going to do in the future.

Name one coach who could/would have 5 years of success and would stay at Ole Miss? It took 41 years to find this one, surely no one wants to wait another 40 years.

Fire Freeze and he shows up at Southern Miss making sure that Ole Miss and state both suffer. And probably wins a Cusa championship along the way.

I believe the shine is off Hudspeth - his SEC ship sailed when in 2014 Dan Mullen was 4-6 with two games to go and beat both Arkansas (0-8 in the SEC) and Ole Miss in overtime to make it to .500 and a Liberty Bowl where the legend of Dak Prescott was created. They had Hud coming off back to back to back 9-4 seasons ready to go and he was a MSU fan. In a way, its our fault Hud isn't already a SEC coach.

He's now had back to back losing seasons (4-8 and 6-7) with two 5th place finishes in a conference of declining quality. I think you'll see him wrap up his head coaching career either retiring or getting fired from ULaLa

If we hire anyone local it would be Jay Hopson at Southern. Ole Miss grad and former assistant. However, it doesn't matter, Freeze is not getting fired.

This might be a pipe dream but I wonder if Mike MacIntyre would have any interest? He's a former assistant here and we could probably double his salary.

Hopson would be good as well.

Was curious on view of Hudspeth.

Agree on Freeze. It was just a hypothetical.

Where are you getting the $60,000 figure? It was around $15,000 pre-Tunsil draft night, and the NCAA only added Leo @ 15k max and Gholson hunting trip.

Those meals and overnights on the couch are expensive. Hotel rooms are expensive also. Plus the rides to school and the hunting lodge is world class.

Those electric bills are tough also. Oh, wait...nothing ever came of that.

Five years of digging in the red dirt hills of Oxford and this is the best they can come up with on Ole Miss.

Just call it what it is...a witch hunt to rid the SEC of Hugh Freeze. He can turn the sec upside down, and that's why he must go in their eyes.

This is why Ole Miss should keep him around.

I'm curious about where you're coming from here. Why not? The NCAA didn't just wake up one day and pull our name out of a hat. All this went down under his watch. He's a Top 10 salary head coach in the country. We pay him $4.5m a year to have members of his staff texting players about money with their own phones, under their own names?

Dude we won't have close to the amount of depth or talent to compete for any kind of title for at least 5-10 years.
