Who would you like to see replace Hugh Freeze or would you even like to see him replaced?
Who do think would coach our program in the state its in?

I have a suggestion and I've said it in another threads, but what about Les Miles?
I don't think he would take the Ole Miss job if we went after him, but I think he'd be the best option for our program. He's a big, credible name, and I have no doubt he'd be the best guy to help our recruiting get back on track. Just an idea

Well, he'd have to do a way better job than he did those last couple seasons at LSU. All that talent and he couldn't get too much done. Just think how little he'd accomplish with us considering the talent is going to be way down with all the trouble and not even on the same level with no trouble.

I agree, I'm not gonna deny that he was awful with LSU his last few seasons and they had a shite of talent, but even if we got a great coach on the field, I don't think anyone is going to come in here and start recruiting at a high SEC level. I was just thinking as far as recruiting purposes go, a big name like Les would be the only thing I can think of truly helping us.

Les Miles. Just cause we have grass now and with him eating it we could save money on the lawn care.

This is the worst thread on this board in a long while. Les Miles?

Sonny Cumbie
Lincoln Riley
Dave Aranda

So you'd take some coordinators, that the majority of people don't know, over Les Miles, pretty much a brand name in CF? Who would recruit better?

The majority of people who know about college football know these names and their track records.

The majority of people who know college football know Les does less with more and is ruinous to offenses.

The majority of people who know college football know that when the hammer comes down, it doesn't matter if baby Jesus himself is our head coach, it will take a miracle to recruit worth a damn-and even before so-as we are already realizing.

Alright thats a fair logical assessment. But imo Les would still do a better job recruiting with the position we are in.

Disagree... we could find the next James Franklin. My problem with OC's or DC's, its hit or miss when it comes to them being HC. And, I honestly don't know, just asking, not arguing, but are there any head coaches that are being very successful at a lesser school?

Who knows. Bryan Harsin?

I'm sure we'll do something mediocre like not at least making a run at Michael White so we can keep Andy Kennedy. WAOM.

I would not assume he would be gone.

The problem Ole Miss will have with getting a coach with any success, is the same problem we have with recruiting.

Poaching...we lose top 10 talent from Mississippi to rival sec schools and the last coach with success long enough to get poached end up in a pine box at Auburn.

Any long term success for Ole Miss will have to come from within the Ole Miss family.

Anyone else that comes in a looks to be a top notch coach will get poached.

Worst case scenario for the state of Mississippi... Freeze gets let go and ends up at Southern Miss and really puts a damper on the ability for state and Ole Miss to compete in the SEC.

The best team in Mississippi would end up being in Hattiesburg.

Afterall Freeze is a alum and would take that job in a heart beat. If nothing else, just to hurt both Ole Miss and state for the BS both have caused.

So if you are hoping for more than 3 or 4 years of 8 win seasons with 2 year droughts of less than 5 wins, you need to assume that CHF is kept no matter what.

We need a proven leader. Someone who has made it through NCAA sanctions before. There really is only one qualified person for the job....

I'd swap Hugh Freeze for Jay Hopson right now. Not even a second thought.

I don't think Dave Aranda wants to be a head coach. He's pretty much stated his end goal is an NFL coordinator job.

Aranda is probably the smartest guy in the room, but he doesn't have the personality that's needed to be a head coach. I've heard he really impresses recruits and their families with his knowledge, but he'll never hustle on the trail like Freeze and O

Larry Fedora. Ties to Mississippi and Texas. Decent success at Carolina.

Why should we fire Freeze due to a hack job investigation. We should keep him just as a thumb in the nose to the NCAA.

I wouldn't call it a hack a job investigation. It sucks and compared to other schools situations, and investigations, the NCAA seems to be throwing us under the bus, but they have proof of us cheating in multiple sports, not to mention us making a fool of the NCAA on draft night 2016, it is assumed they'll make an example out of us. I'm not saying we should fire him, but throughout the college football world, it is assumed we get harsh penalties and Freeze will be gone. I love Hugh Freeze, and want him to stay. I started this thread to see other ideas on coaches replacing him if he were to be gone. It was supposed to be a hypothetical thread, but some of y'all are taking it too personally.

That would be another Tuberville experience. No thanks.
