The coach Luke jokes are funny, but what is really funny is you guys want to fire the coach, but I just pointed out all the guys on the roster and NONE of you have provided any reason why he should be fired.

Once again based off of those 15 guys listed who on that roster should have been developed right now????

It's a narrative that people are too lazy to not run with. Like I said....pretty much the same people calling to put Kincade in during the Peach Bowl.

I'm not saying that Matt Luke ISN'T the reason for bad OLine play....but, you're right...no one seems to be able to prove that Matt Luke IS the problem.

This guy got his argument from a guy on the Spirit. That tells me all I need to know.

If that guy had done his homework, he would have noticed that in 2011 Duke went extremely young on the OL. The 2012 year that Luke left they had a immense amount of experience returning. Luke was part of the recruiting that brought those guys in.

Personally I could care less if Luke is fired. I just think fans sometimes make stupid points and have no idea what they are talking about. As I've mentioned several times, fans needed someone to blame. The OL was horrible. But instead of just realizing hey we had absolutely no depth and guys playing out of position, we start saying Luke should be fired. Other schools have developed better lines with worse talent. Yet I'm still waiting on someone to tell me who Luke should have developed by now.

I wanted Kincade in because Bo was obviously hobbled and shaken and I just wanted to see what he could do.

1. Put in the back up qb
2. Fire the coach

Exactly!

These same fans were saying we need to put Devante Kincade in his true freshman year!

every time Tunsil went out with an injury...it forced us to slide 2-3 people on our OLine to different positions...so then you have 2-3 people not playing in their natural position as well as a 2nd stringer in.

Mix that in with our starting center getting injured...and you basically have an entirely new offensive line.

at one point...I also wanted Kincade in, but that was more to just get him some experience before offseason starts.

We probably wanted him in at the same point.

I didn't really understand why you were just listing people and putting "starter" next to their names. I don't think either side has made any points. I don't give a frick who our OL coach is, I just want the unit to play well for once.

Why is no one calling for the firing of the RBs coach (Seriously...we are suppose to be deep) and we don't have one single good RB (IMO) on the team. (totally not true...Dodson is tranfering to Memphis and I think he is good)

Our RB's run with no vision (never waits on a block and runs up OLs backs) and cant break a tackle....yet no one is calling for a new RB coach. No one. Just saying

the entire game runs together into one gigantic assbeating.

...but I think it was when Bo tried to get rid of the ball and it landed right in the TCU guy's hands in our own endzone.

At that point....frick that game....time to prepare ourselves for next season.

I agree 100%. Luke might not be the right guy. There is absolutely nothing one could gather at this point with the players we currently have to make that conclusion.

I've said if you don't see any progression in Bouldin, Johnson, or C. Morris next season then a stronger case can be made. Right now, it would be really dumb to even suggest he should be fired.

Personally I think PJ might be the bigger culprit here than Luke. There's no sense in having our lineman come in every single fall 50 lbs overweight after they've had all spring and summer to get in line. I realize a part of that is on the player but still.

I don't think Luke is a good coach though. We'll see.

Thats what I am saying.... Replacing the OL coach is NOT going to fix the problem. I am not saying its not part of the solution but the problem is so much deeper its nto funny...but you guys just keep on calling for firing of Luke. The rationale makes little sense to me ...and its folly to think it will fix the problem.

The only one that comes to mind being out of shape is the one that came off an ACL injury....hard for big guys to keep the weight off with that injury.

My main issue is how enept these guys look at times, whether it be scheme or not. Also, Luke and Jackson are responsible for how out of shape these guys are(especially at guard). I give a pass to Jackson simply because of how the overall S&C has improved since he has been here. We all know Luke isn't going anywhere. We are going to have to replace Tunsil, Morris, Bell, and Cooper with young players after next season, will they be ready then, or will we still be too young to have a good OL in 2016? There is talent there.

I think Conyers will be a great OL for us going forward.

Justin Bell and Rod Taylor were out of shape all season.

Wasn't Justin Bell the one out for a year with an ACL injury? Jackson gets a pass on him....hell for a guy that size to stay in shape with that injury.

Rod Taylor is a true freshman....You don't get players in shape during the season. That's offseason work. Not sure when he actually got to Oxford, though. If he was able to enroll early Summer...then he would have had time with Jackson. Fall....not so much.

I agree about Justin Bell. Rod Taylor is a little different. He came in July I wanna say and was told get ready to play. He and Speaks both were overweight when they showed up. Speaks was able to get the RS due to depth Taylor was not. Not really anyones fault though.

I posted this on another site. For the people who want Luke fired, please tell me exactly who was he suppose to develop?????

Let me ask you this simple question:

Who evaluated and recruited these guys? I don't see people calling for Kiffin to be fired. Or any other position coach. Who was he suppose to develop? How about anybody not named Tunsil? Tunsil has kept Luke's job and Luke had zero to do with his recruitment.
