Rewatch a few games this year and focus on the offensive line. Most of the breakdowns were from missed blocks due to a lack of knowing proper assignments. That's coaching, not talent. We of course lost one on one battles more than a few times, but that's to be expected. How much of that is lack of talent vs a lack of learning fundamental skills? Don't know, but both of those faults are still on the coaches, either from a lack of recruiting or a lack of teaching. Most offensive lineman, even the better ones, need a year to redshirt and learn the basic skills as well as to learn the schemes. Not many kids have good enough coaches in high school to teach them what they need to know when they're at the next level. Outside of Tunsil, who was an anomaly, everyone under Luke has looked poor in their technique. From their feet, to stance, to handwork, and everything in between. Teaching what he learned 20 years ago in a different offensive scheme and era is not helping to develop these kids. Wommack must go, but I've said for years that Luke is a close second. I am very critical as I've had experience at the position, so I'm not just pulling this straight from my arse.

All that said, I don't see it happening. Our best and only shot will be to demote him to recruiting coordinator and possibly co-offensive line coach. I wouldn't hold my breath if I was you.

Whoever down voted my bump to fire Luke can go get fricked. That was one of the worst offensive line performances we've seen at Ole Miss, especially considering the talent we're working with. I was hoping he'd pull Shea at some point just so he wouldn't get hurt. No QB in the world could accomplish much when that powerhouse Vandy three man rush was in the backfield all night.

This system of nepotism in the Freeze staff needs to end.

I don't see how firing a OL coach will do anything.

Well yeah, you would have to hire a new OL coach as well.

Luke named a finalist for the Broyles award. Top assistant coach. Lol no way Freeze cans him now. Has his excuse.

When will Troy or some other small school hire him as HC?
