We weren't even on Moses's list.

I know we are deep at wr but Guidry decommitted from LSU. Why not offer him, dude is 6'4". DK and him would be a defenses nightmare in the redzone.

with limited scholly's I hope we use 70 % on LBs

We have two that are committed and one taking a red shirt.
I think the future is Bing-Dukes/Hibbler/Evans in the middle and Gates/Gay/Clark on the outside.
You still would have Polk and Smith on the outside. Neither have shown the instincts or speed to be an every down lbs.
Need corners, I think we are in good hands at safety next season with Hampton, Woods, Linton, Anderson, CJ and Street.
I think Hartsfield needs to move to corner and I'm hoping Eisworth can play corner, at least as well as Kailo and Carlos.
I wonder if they have shut Fadol Brown down for the year?
It would be nice to have him and Haynes return.
It would help the defense, and I think the Rebels have a better chance next season winning the SEC than this season. If they return we only lose 3 d-linemen. Gross, Jones and Youngblood. Coatney is red shirting and Shepard is sitting out a year.

Losing these guys plus Haynes for sure... If that's all though then we will have lots of experienced bodies on the line next season.. Much deeper than this season... Especially at DE.

Could Fadol take a medical at this point?
Posted on 10/3/16 at 9:00 pm to UMRealist
Yes. If he ever plays again...
Posted on 10/4/16 at 7:47 am to UMRealist
So we sit him the rest of the year hoping the NCAA grants a med r/s to a guy who is in his sixth year? Doesn't sound like something that would happen.
Posted on 10/4/16 at 7:49 am to rebelrouser
Is he in his 6th year? Seriously asking bc I have no idea.
Posted on 10/4/16 at 8:22 am to UMRealist
Pretty sure he is in his fifth year.
Supposedly you have to be injured two years to get a medical redshirt which Fadol has only missed this year due to injury. I guess if he doesn't play it's either because he physically can't or we think the NCAA will grant a sixth year based on time missed due to transferring

I don't think that's true at all. Didn't CJ get a medical redshirt and he was only out one year?
Posted on 10/4/16 at 10:38 am to Wanderin Reb
It may not be. When I look up the rule now I only see reference to missing 1 season due to an incapacitating injury in which the player missed more than 80% of the season. But I remember some guy linking the rule of scout where it specifically said you had to miss two seasons due to injury. Hopefully it's just one
The above is what I remembered reading
quote:
Compliance 101, Session 3: Extensions of the Five-Year Clock Compliance 101: Your source for learning the ins and outs of NCAA and Big 12 rules. An application for an extension of his five-year clock is much rarer and more difficult to attain. For an extension request to be successful, the institution requesting it on behalf of the studentathlete must prove that the student-athlete was deprived of more than one season of competition for reasons beyond his or her control. For example, a student-athlete could have been forced to withdraw from school for two years to help support his family or to care for an ailing parent. More commonly, the basis for an extension request is incapacitating injury. In cases of injury, the institution must show that the student-athlete suffered injuries or illnesses that prevented him or her from competing for two seasons.

I'd like to see us move Armani Linton to LB.
Posted on 10/4/16 at 11:08 am to Doresrules
^ This may be a great idea. If he can put on 10-15 lbs of muscle and retain his speed he'd be a hellacious LB (he is currently listed at 6'2 / 215 lbs).
