It's really not difficult, just go put in an application to open a CFA. They have a thorough selection process and expect the owners to spend a significant amount of time in store themselves. Thus you get better service when the big boss is in store and when he spends lots of time in the store he can easily see and fire anyone not working up to standard. Everything trickles down from corporate to the individual owners who also preach good service.

Chic Fil A is one of the few fast foods here in MS that it's not uncommon to see white employees. It's also one of the best fast food places with some of the best service. But I'm sure there is no correlation.

I wish I could understand the tone you're saying this with. I mean I just assume it's typical racist Mississippiness, but maybe I'm wrong.

That is correct. The color of their employee has zero to do with it. I'm not surprised at the number of people that have suggested otherwise on this board, but some of y'all need to get out more.

It's pretty simple. They put their stores in nicer areas of town and are vigilant in regard to customer service. They have decent benefits, and thus draw a higher quality of employee. Panara Bread does the same. Starbucks too.

It isn't a mystery how they do it.

I just posted the honest truth about every Chic-fil-a that I've eaten. Don't blame me if the truth is racist; blame the truth.

The truth is the color of the employee has nothing to do with the service. There is more accountability in Chick-Fil-A's corporate culture. It's racist to just write off substandard service at other places because the employees are black. The ignorance in the Magnolia State never ceases to amaze me.

Of course, but the accountability that CFA demands of their employees obviously attracts more white employees. The black employees do a great job as well; there just usually aren't as many.

So black people don't want to work at a place where they have to work harder? Seriously?

I said the accountability attracts more white employees. I mean the truth is in every CFA you walk into in America.

Why are you considering the truth racist?

CFA has the best fast food service.
CFA has the best fast food service because they have the highest accountability.
CFA has the highest accountability for their employees and hires the most white employees for fast food. They also have black employees just not as many as McDonalds.

That is just the sad truth. Stop getting hung up on the race card.

They understand that they are selling service. Franchise owners are only allowed to have one restaurant so it gets their total focus. And, the service is a top down philosophy which is the only way anything can be sustainable and successful. RIP Mr. Cathy.

I'm pretty sure one guy in Memphis owns two on two on the same street.

Because they don't have multi-unit operators. The upper management at any one location is expected to be there a minimum of 5 days out of the 6 they're open. That level of accountability permeates the entire organization.

They also have corporate control over all of their operations. It makes consistency easier when the franchisees work for you instead of with you.

I cannot find it specifically written but did find this interesting - Complete the official Operator Application and submit it to Chick-fil-A with a $5,000 initial application fee. The company receives over 20,000 franchise ownership applications each year, but selects only 65 to 70 new operators.

What is stated on the website is that a potential "operator" must be free of any other active business ventures and operate THE restaurant on a full time, hands on basis. This would imply one only.

That is correct. They conduct three interviews with potential operators. First interview by yourself. Second you and your wife. Third your wife, you, and your preacher. Real talk.

That application fee is a racket all by its self.

A cool $10mm

That's a bit weird.

Wonder how that went with the Catholic guy that owns one.
