There is no chicken barbecue, only barbecued chicken - which is not the same.

You just like them cowboys. That's why you went with Texas.

If you can't answer that you're not a true fan.

Southern living is for vaginas. Leave to Alabama to invent a sauce made out of Mayo. :yuck:

White sauce isn't fricking BBQ sauce. It goes on chicken, chicken isn't BBQ.

I'm not a Failcons fan and I'm too busy watching Cleetus Buck on Twitter to form a good response.

Bunch of New York City hipsters judging Southern BBQ...........sounds legit.

We are in the tug of war zone between all the styles, minus Carolina, but you can find Carolina sauces around here.
There are places where the pulled pork is fantastic, but beef meh. Ribs one place, brisket bad arse another place, but pork meh.
Beef most definitely is BBQ.
Barbacoa por el victoria.

The best BBQ I've ever had is from Kansas City. So Missouri. But the best BBQ sandwiches I've ever had is Hick's BBQ in Northport.

I mean, I get what you're saying, but where else are you going to find an unbiased panel of people. You can't pick people from the southern states because everyone will prefer their own. Hipsters' taste buds are no different than anyone else's

Been to all of them. Texas(semi southern) has the best beef BBQ. Other than that it depends on personal taste and the particular part of the state you are in. Tuscaloosa is probably the best overall for SEC campus towns. Memphis has the best dry rub ribs I have tasted.
Bama is known for white sauce and although it is very good, there are plenty of traditional sauce places that knock it out of the park.
North Carolina BBQ is different due to the sauce but I think very good.
I went to one place in Kansas City(Jack Stacks) that was incredible. I know that's not southern.
Don't know enough about Georgia BBQ, haven't had any good Florida BBQ or South Carolina BBQ.
I vote for Alabama being that it has top tier restaurants in more than one style. Even have had some great vinegar based sauce Q here.
