I'm fairly libertarian, but I think the U.S. should maintain an over-reaching, imperialistic military.

Not sure I'm against total war doctrine either.

I agree but I think we should spend a lot less. I am anti-military industrial complex. Let Lockheed build more planes that make commercial flight cheaper.

Certainly, there's way too much waste in military spending. I was really referring to philosophy. I admire Roosevelt's opinion of what America's military ambitions should be.

Libertarianism traditionally embraces a more isolationist viewpoint.

Which one, Teddy? He was my favorite president. He wasn't anti-business, he was pro-common sense. Things like the FDA and his trust busting were good for the American consumer, and as long as they keep big business competitive, I think it completely falls in line with my libertarian leanings.
