I like grits fine and certainly eat them, I never find myself craving them though. However I do love some shrimp and grits.

I eat grits, but hate them plain. Usually will cook some conecuh sausage, chop it up and put them in the grits.
Not a big fan of cheese in grits

Have an up vote for going the extra mile, he said two and I thought listing 4 was double the effort.
I forget about Denny's as I rarely eat there. Are the grits any good? Waffle House does not make good grits, but any port in a a storm I suppose.
The Hive @ 21c hotel, do they serve them in a non breakfast setting? I have eaten at Proof and they were on the dinner menu, agree they were really good.

Actually no. He was 75 when he was diagnosed with Cancer. Made it about a year after that. Up until the last 6 months before he died he was more active than men half his age. Lots of folks claim to know older men like that but this guy was the truth.
He was also one of those closet well off folks. Drove old vehicles and lived in a 30 year old single wide trailer. He was never married and had no kids. Paid cash for everything. I feel confident based on some things that I saw he died with a million or 2 in the bank. Pretty good for man that only drove trucks his entire life. He was so damn peculiar but a damn fine man that nobody ever spoke ill of.

Sunny side up eggs with a bowl of grits with salt and black pepper is the breakfast of Champions

Denny's is about as good as waffle house (poor). 21c for breakfast or brunch is really good. Bordino's brunch has grits that are good as well. A lot of those places I haven't tried yet. Don't normally go out to eat for breakfast but I like to take the wifey for a Sunday brunch once in a while though.
I see 21c has grits on the lunch menu with their pan-seared catfish.

Still, the maps show Arkansas doesn't consume grits on par with the deep south. They are a novelty item at most of the restaurants you've cited, if they are in fact served there.

Not breakfast, but San Lio has a Dim Sum brunch on Saturday that is spot on.

They're good, especially with butter and a bit of cheese
I never considered it a southern thing. I figured people from all over at them at least occasionally

The Deep South and Grits. Do you eat Grits?
Yes. Cheese grits with bacon and eggs is pretty hard to beat.

I mix my grits with scrambled eggs

Yes.
Always thought they were "country" but they've become haute in upscale southern dining. Done right and smooth they are great

Yes, I absolutely love grits.
With breakfast or with dinner/supper.
Grits and cheese (small cubes of sharp cheddar) with fried pork chops is uhhh-maaaay-zinnnng!!!!
And it can be eaten as either breakfast or dinner/supper.
And of course, shrimp 'n grits is a Southern delicacy that you HAVE to try if you're in SC..especially in the lowcountry region.
Doesn't have grits in it, but "Lowcountry Boil" is definitely another distinctly Southern delicacy that you have to try if you're ever over this way.
I see the the part of SC I live in reflects my same level of devotion to grits according to the maps.

Really good in Svannah
The beauty of grits is they go with just about anything. Like simple black dress and pearls for women or sport coat and dirty bucks for men.
