When I worked downtown, years ago, we loved the snow days. Company would put us up (normally at the Remont) and we'd knock down plenty of alcohol in the hotel bar.

James Spann just came on and called his forecast a dramatic error, similar to what happened in 1982 (I am old enough to remember that screwup).
Wants the focus to be not jumping on the weather people (for now), but getting help for people who need it in the big population centers (Birmingham, etc.) who were not expecting this crap.

Terrible ice storm. I don't remember the forecast though, and how badly they missed it. I do remember the smell of pine and pine trees down all over my neighborhood though.

Heavier snow is falling from Hale through Bibb, Perry, Chilton, Shelby, Coosa, Talladega, Clay, Calhoun, Cleburne and Randolph Counties.
A wintry mix is falling south of this area from Marengo through Dallas, Autauga and Elmore Counties. The preicpitation has changed to snow at Selma in Dallas County.

Everyone missed this one. never more than a dusting forecast.
seriously, the amount of precipitation isn't that much different from forecast . but it just makes a world of difference with the temperatures where they are.
