While true, lustful thoughts don't give you AIDS from nasty buttfricking and arse rimming.

Actually, the Bible says you have already committed adultery in your heart but that's for a different thread.

no, let's have it right here dickhead. since you are going to try to use scripture, while having 1000's of posts claiming you don't believe it.

I didn't say I lusted after her. I just said i'm attracted to a woman of such stature, not that I pictured nailing her in my head and longing to sleep with her.

there's a huge difference and you know it. saying, "hey, i'd like to have a BMW someday" is not the same thing as seeing my neighbor's beamer, and hating him and wanting and plotting to take it from him.

i'm not going to follow you around and post "Klarvin" hates Christians" like that idiot, but come on, show some ingenuous thought.

quote:

The point is that you still get to have sex with your wife and fulfill the most basic biological drive we have. Gays have the choice to either remain celibate, or lie to women about how they feel about them (another sin) and have unfulfilling sex.

as for that, I agree. but i'd also say that i'm going to have a long sad life of not being able to fulfill any desires I have of sleeping with other women (which is sin.) But, I also know that even though that desire is there, my desire to obey Christ is greater, and so I obey it (on top of being a crappy person for sleeping with another woman.)

for an interesting scenario... I have a friend who's in the UAE right now. they recently had a couple in their church become believers.

Lesbians.
In the UAE.
With a kid.

How do you counsel that, when the couple is open to divorcing? Not sure. The church doesn't recognize the marriage, so they don't have qualms with the divorce, but they also know that these two women have lived a certain way for a long time and asking them to give up their attractions is asking them to deny how God made them is wrong as well.

The problem is that you probably think that Christians think everybody gay is going to hell, when we don't. I have a friend who was married 30 years, came out got a divorce and has had some weird/not great relationships with men. He says he knows what the Bible says and doesn't know how to deal with that, but he's acting how he feels now. I think it's wrong, but I think a lot of other things he does is wrong to along with myself and my actions. None of that keeps either of us from heaven.

So I get you don't like Christians, think we're whatever in your mind, but have some honest dialogue. Don't be stonehog and just try to throw out zingers. You've proven to be an infinitely better poster than that.

ETA: even though I called you a mean name, I love you Klarvin

Didn't you say it's ok to be attracted to someone that isn't your wife as long as you don't act on the urge?

No, I didn't. What I said was this:

quote:

For instance, if you're married and are attracted to another woman, you are expected to remove yourself from the situation before you break your vows.

quote:

Because according to the Bible, having lustful thoughts is a sin.
We may be going off the rails a great deal here, but does attraction = having lustful thoughts? I think you can say, "that person is attractive" without delving into an explicit sexual fantasy involving said person.

You we just making a statement that is false. I know men that "became" gay after older men "indoctrinated" raped them when the were teenagers, after that they figured he must be gay otherwise why would it have happened? They are not attracted to men but wound up trapped in the lifestyle. It is not an uncommon theme. Not applicable to everyone. But your statement about everyone living a gay lifestyle because of chosen attraction is false.

Could you have sex with a man? I couldn't, no matter what I was "trapped" in.

I took your post to mean lusting, my apologies.

And I don't hate Christians, I just get annoyed by some of the outlandish things they say (more so on the poliboard). I don't thinkIve ever gotten into a real life argument over this stuff though.

I do find that many Christians believe practicing hokosexuaks cannot go to heaven though.

Not sure what you're confused about. The guy asked if attraction = lustful thoughts.

Thinking someone is pretty is not the same thing as sexual attraction. You can think another man is handsome without wanting to give him a good dicking.
