Liar. Getting food stamps is pretty easy in most states.

You are the wrongest person in the history of wrongness. I'll leave it at that, unless you're truly good enough to entice me to fully explain why. For now the motivation is not there.

Capitalism doesn't have anything to do with it. No matter what economic/political system you have in place, the rich make the rules to benefit them or just cheat the system and get away with it. I'm not saying there isn't a better system, but there hasn't been one thus far in modern history.

A company called Momentum Machines has built a robot that could radically change the fast-food industry and have some line cooks looking for new jobs.

The company's robot can "slice toppings like tomatoes and pickles immediately before it places the slice onto your burger, giving you the freshest burger possible." The robot is "more consistent, more sanitary, and can produce ~360 hamburgers per hour." That's one burger every 10 seconds.

A lot of people get paid more than what they deserve and alot of people get paid less than what they deserve...

How much would most of you charge to shingle a roof on a house? Most of you would charge an outrageous fricking amount cause you don't want to do it.. it's hot, requires physical work, etc. How much should a fast food worker get paid...? well if they work hard and do their job... maybe 15 an hour... however, many of them are surrounded by people that don't work hard and don't do anything... so those that do work have to take up the slack for the lazy people, even though they don't get paid much more.

You joke about flipping burgers being a career... well.... it is a career in some ways in this day and age.... why don't you go start a small restaurant on your own and compete with all the big franchises. I dare you to open a small time hardware or grocery store in a town near a wal-mart, k-mart, home depot, or lowes... yet I bet you would say... working at wal-mart or lowes isn't a career choice.

There are a lot of lazy people out there... but there are also a lot of greedy people out there. There are also a lot of hard working people out there that don't get paid what they deserve.

I love how this thread is full of the people that are on TD all day long... Alahunter, Belle, Catfan, parkjas, CNB, Mizzeaux, UMrealist, TelaFawx, etc...

All you hard workers that spend so much of your day working SOOOOO fricking hard, and yet you still can find the time to play on TD... pretty much ALL frickING DAY LONG... and bitch about people that don't make much money, and that don't have time to play on the internet, and them maybe wanting to make a little bit more money off your lazy asses.

I call BS on that. Lawn mowers make more than those in the "fast food industry". The trouble is there's a bit of icky sweat involved.

1. Who's bitching? I'm not bitching about fast food workers bitching. I'll bitch about guys like you wanting to raise their salaries to the point they lose their jobs. But maybe that's just me.

2. There are plenty of low-intellect jobs that pay more than McDonalds/BK/etc. But those jobs actually require real work.

3. Two jobs here. Normal 8 hour day job and a moonlighting job that took 10+ years to establish. frick you, in other words.

I'm not bitching at all.. I don't work fast food... but i do think those that do should get paid what they deserve... The problem isn't the pay scale.. it's the fact that the managers don't pay the people that actually work what they deserve.... and in turn the people that pay the managers don't pay the managers what the deserve...

From the bottom it looks like Joe Blow isn't doing his Job... but in all honesty Joe Blow could be doing the best job he knows how to do... but his boss is lazy and her/his boss is lazy.... etc...

"2. There are plenty of low-intellect jobs that pay more than McDonalds/BK/etc. But those jobs actually require real work."

I WOULD LOVE to hear your definition of real work... Would LOVE it.... Tell me that roofing a house is low-intellect work... then explain to me in detail how to roof a house. If you think low intellect work is just common fricking knowledge... then... it shouldn't be hard for you to tell me how to do it.

"3. Two jobs here. Normal 8 hour day job and a moonlighting job that took 20 years to establish. frick you, in other words."

It took you 20 years to establish a moonlighting job? sorry...?

ETA: sorry... apparently it only took you 10 years to establish a moonlighting job...

If the latest round of minimum wage nonsense goes through, almost all of those jobs will be replaced with touchscreens and robots. Then who is better off?

I'm not sure what you're getting at here. Roofing is definitely real work. I've worked at roofing much earlier in my life and guarantee I made way more than minimum wage. Same goes for lawn-mowing.

20 years was an exaggeration. My bad. To get where I am with this business took 7 years before I knew it would be successful, 10 years to confirm that. Whatever, the point still stands: frick you if you think I'm hard on fast food workers and I'm just some silver-spoon guy whiling his time away on the internet.

Well if you are bitching about the money you make while being on here... eh...

I.E. dont bitch about the money you aren't making while you aren't doing anything that makes you money. Taaaa.......Da......

Nonsense and you know it. I'm perfectly happy with the money I make and am not bitching about it. It's ludicrous that you want to put fast food workers out of a job by paying them far more than they're worth and replacing them with machines. The raise-the-minimum-wage crowd - looks like you included - just doesn't get this. You're not just trying to put all teenagers out of work, which would certainly happen; you're trying to shut down an entire sector of the workforce. There's no way in Hell McDonald's is going to pay $15/hr to cashiers. Those jobs will be gone.

I just hope whatever job you work at doesn't expect to pay you much money.... Otherwise.. your job will be gone.
