Yes

They did a contest a few years back and a few non political flags came up new-flags most weren't all that bad.

I could care less what flag they would select.

Maybe a pirate flag with "Aaaarrrrr Matey" across the bottom.

Yes.

It's just not necessary.

I guess I qualify for this...I'm the only one on my dads side born in LA. I like the flag and see nothing wrong with it...if you're that insecure then there are bigger problems at hand

Whole fam is from Jackson and the surrounding areas...I think the highest north we go is Philadelphia, MS but I could be wrong

Here's one specific example. And it's a sports example none-the-less. You're living in a shell if you think having a flag that many perceive as racist as not holding us back. Sorry. It's just the way of the world now.

That sucks for South Carolina, but there is not a single venue in the state of MS that could ever host a post season event. The lone exception is potentially hosting the SEC baseball tournament somewhere, and even that is a long shot

Didn't notice Central Europe anywhere.

Unfortunately I don't get much time there, shitholes with oil are more my forte. However why would central Europe be of question?

And retard is just a word til you know someone with special needs. The lack of Christian principles in the Deep South amazes me. Why is spreading hate through a flag so important to people?

It's not worth the fight. You're not going to change their opinions. Just know that the important people on both sides of the aisle agree on this issue.

Black people have been doing this song and dance againts the flag for a while now. Sometime you can convince people to change thier mind, sometimes you can't. You just got to move on.

The Vice President of the Confederacy gave a famous Speech that included this gem:

Our new government is founded upon exactly the opposite idea; its foundations are laid, its corner- stone rests, upon the great truth that the negro is not equal to the white man; that slavery subordination to the superior race is his natural and normal condition. This, our new government, is the first, in the history of the world, based upon this great physical, philosophical, and moral truth. This truth has been slow in the process of its development, like all other truths in the various departments of science.

Does Scrooster recite this line when he raises the Confederate Battle Flag on his front lawn every day?

You misunderstood him.

It was about state's rights.

When he says "negro," he means the Union.

When he says "the white man," he means the seceding states.

Common misconception

It's not about hate for most, but being pissy the "Yankees" want to take down a symbol of southern resistance.

I personally think the flag represents the more shameful aspects of southern culture and history. There are other ways to show pride in this messed up but awesome part of the country.

Exactly. We're not hosting any NCAA event, flag or no flag.

Because frick you. That's why. I could give two shits about what the flag has on it or what it means, but some god damn Texan isn't going to dictate when we change it.

Why don't you deal with your own racist fricking state, and leave us to deal with our own shite.
