The new gym has a fully functioning spa in it. The place is amazing, I've never seen a gym this clean.

I hadn't played in years. I was winded pretty quick but I've been out of the gym 2 months with my move and stuff. I'm prob take a few weeks off before hitting the court again.

I pulled into a cross fit gym parking lot yesterday.

The Bojangles next door was all out of parking and I needed my Cajun filet biscuit.

I need to get my fat uninspired arse back in the gym. I'm getting tired and lazy in my older age.

T'was doing a PPL workout regimen for a couple months but my right shoulder has been hurting ever since. Probably going to go back to my normal and trusted M-F routine. Given that I'm not training for physique competitions and that I'm 27 and married, I'm not working out just to get injured, just want to stay in shape.

I've been doing M-F meathead shite for 15yrs, love it. Lately I don't have any energy. I guess that's what 40 gives you. I'll get some cheap creatine for a little boost.

I've been trying to consume +200g of protein per day. I do 4 sets of muscles: push (tris, shoulders, chest), pull (back and bi's), legs, and core each twice a week. I try to lift heavy - most often 3 sets of 5. Ive gained over 20 lbs in the last 8 weeks, but have definitely sacrificed some body fat %. Im at just over 220 lbs now but I want to get up to 240 before I start trying to trim the fat.

That's impressive man. What have you been doing? Obviously eating better but exercise wise, what has been your plan? I'm 6'0 and started at 255. Down to 230 but haven't been able to get over that hump yet. Been several vacation weekends and business dinners where the beer flowed like wine.

I stopped worrying much about weight. I'm at like 6 ft 200 right now, I worry more about body fat percent.

Jog 6 miles every morning now. You can start by walking it and get to the point where you are able to jogged. Start on the treadmill before you start running outside though if you can. I started by going 3 mph on the high incline for 100 minutes and took a 10 minute break at 50 minutes. Slowly i got to where i was doing this at 4 mph constantly without getting very tired before i got to jogging 6 miles a day outside. I ate my biggest meal (around 800 calories) in the morning and ate alot less throughout the day. Helped set my appetite for the day and eat less throughout the day I limited myself to only small snacks or fruits after breakfast and I never ate past 6pm. I ate around a 1000-1200 calories a day total. Ate fish and chicken for meat and fiber is important so I ate either beans, cabbage, or collard greens as my side for every meal.

Also drank 124 fl oz of water a day. It was hard but well worth it in the end. I'm starting to think I want to stay at 180 and improve my body fat percentage.

And thing I learned through the whole weight loss process is that those workout infomercials are very misleading and some are straight up lying to you. Don't do them. The only way you can lose the weight you want is through hard work and patience. It's the only way.

The most important thing about this is consistency. I workout every day and have had about 10 cheat days since February. No days off and unless you truly are tired and DONT PLAN DAYS OFF. In my experience, it made me want to take more days off and might lead you to quit. Just stay dedictated. You can do it man!

Good stuff man. Thanks for the info on your progress.

I am working out pretty hard 5 days a week and I think I am about to do a few two a days to help get over the hump. I also have an almost 4 year old and a 1 1/2 year old and that can make it hard to get out and make it happen. Really just an excuse but at their age, its hard to get anyway a lot.

I'm pretty dedicated to doing it though. Been hitting up the gym very consistently and I know it will come.

starting week 4 of my 6 week shred work out.

the last 3 days of the work out last week were 30 rep sets, ending with about 600 reps per session.

today is chest, triceps and abs

2 minutes of warm up, probably going to push the weight sled around, might even try to run it into someone

bench press 4 sets 9-11 reps
incline DB press 3 sets 9-11 reps
decline db press 3 sets 9-11 reps
tricep dips 4 sets 9-11 reps
close grip bp 4 sets 9-11 reps
smith machine hip raise
hanging leg raise

all with cardio between sets, mostly jump rope and things like that. I might top it off with a 10-15 lap swim.

I got a little intense saturday night, I was pushing the sled and someone walked across. I started pushing it harder and faster

also started consuming 2 protein shakes a day. the shakes have Milk, Almond Milk, greek yogurt, spinach, bananas, peanut butter, and 2 scoops of protein. I also added a raw egg and some pre workout the other day.
