Thanks for the replies guys. I have been trying to eat something for breakfast which is something I haven't been doing the last 3-4 years. It has definitely helped keeping my appetite down throughout the day.

I have decided to hold off on doing any heavier weight lifting until I get down to my goal weight. I do some light weights, pushups and dips but main goal right now is getting in cardio 4-5 days a week. I enjoy swimming but I feel that rowing gives me a better workout given the same time period.

Clothes are already starting to fit a little different and I am feeling better.

Remember you don't have to lift to add mass, just lift to tone. The more major muscle groups you excersise each day the faster your body will consume the fat.

Keep us posted on your progress!

I just signed up for my first marathon ever. I have never been a long distance runner so my goal is to complete it without dying.

Marathon is in Feburary so I'll start training in September.

That's super exciting

I don't run at all right now. I'll have to do some serious training. I have ran a 5K before and I did that Tough Mudder course which was 12 miles. Yeah, I'm ready for the challenge and I need to cross this off my bucket list before I get too old. Have you ever ran one?

Killed it on the rowing machine last night. 5 minute warm up and then 20 min of HIIT. Going hard/fast as possible for a minute and then slow/steady for a minute. After 20 minutes I was dead. I was blown away that a 20 minute workout could gas me so bad.

Really trying to reach my goal weight of 200 by the time I go to Playa del Carmen with the wife for our 5 year anniversary in September.

Today is back and biceps day for me too. I did legs yesterday. What exercises will you do today?

Nice man, here is my general core exercises for back. Sometime I switch a few isolation movements around, but I like consistency.

Wide Grip Pull-ups
Bent over Barbell rows
Seated rows
Lat pulldowns
Cable curls
Standing wide grip curls
Standing close grip curls
Shrugs

What about you??

Very nice man. HIIT literally blows away LISS so much, it's not even funny. It kills me to see the people at the gym doing the same 30 minute light jog every day, and clearly not making any progress.

Congrats n nearing the 5 year mark. We already have plans to go to Punta Cana for our 5 year next June.

Thanks man! It will be 5 in November but our work schedules make it hard to travel in Oct, Nov & Dec. Just booked our trip yesterday and looking forward to Playa. Done Cancun but no where else in Mexico.

Just got back to office from gym. Rowed for 5-6 minutes warm up, then HIIT jump rope for 18 minutes. 30 seconds on/30 sec walking. Last 6 minutes went full minute of jump rope and 30 sec of walking. Capped it off with about 8 minutes in the sauna.

Moved across town to west Nashville and joined Planet Fitness. Hopefully I don't slam my Dumbbells and get kicked out

Anyways, tonight I'll be doing HIIT with back and chest followed up with basketball at the local park. Some HS kids over there have some game.

For those wanting to try something new for shoulders, give pizza pies a whirl. I use the 10s but when I was interning at UF, some of the bigger football players could go up to 35s

LINK

Nice combo of isometrics with repetitions as well. They're tough.

Nice job man, sounds like we have pretty similar workouts. With the overhand curls(I have also heard them called reverse curls, too many names ) do you feel much from it?? I know it mainly targets your brachialis, but I still don't feel it much when I try them.

Still can't do legs, but I'm going to do a cardio session today on my punching bag, followed by abs... aka my least favorite day

Interesting, I'll have to give them a try. Though the guy in that video isn't exactly inspiring.
