I don't like when Christians qualify everything with this. It makes them sound pompous and sanctimonious.
If I don't say that, I would be labeled as a hypocrite for not practicing what I preach.

I know I'm not perfect so I say as much. I'm not trying to sound better than anyone else, just trying to relay how I try to live my life, though I fall short very often.

Men that engage in NSA sex are players and it's totally okay when they do it.

Strange to see this thread on here today. I have been thinking a lot about this, as of late. I feel like I'm different every single day but I really like the teachings of the Buddha as they relate to human interrelation. That is, minimizing harm to others while leading the best life possible. I'm trying to intertwine this philosophy with my values (which I'm having a hard time nailing down).

Anyone else feel like this? I feel like RogerTheShrubber does...

Just don't let yourself go like Buddah did or you won't be following his teachings for very long-- heart disease is a real killer.

I'm trying my best to not give a frick. To just live to be happy while being a source of happiness for my lady and kids.

I'm also attempting to live life without that pesky ego that gets in the way of most of life's joys.

I'm a staunch reductionist. I want to know how things work. I question everything so that I might bleed out just a bit more knowledge.

I look at it this way: I became conscious, I have a short time to learn and understand and then I'll go back to being not conscious again. I want to know all I can while I can.

I know what you mean, and I feel like I get you. That's cool and you're probably going to gain a ton of knowledge. Just remember that consciousness has a lot of gifts that go along with knowledge, too. Like wonder and awe. Looking up at the stars at night and feeling small but huge at the same time... That sort of thing.

I read a lot of Zen quotes, and some books on the subject. I've become somewhat if a minimalist and find simplicity is more peaceful than constant struggle for material things.

I kinda had to go through the struggle to get there though.

Optimistic misanthrope who wants to make the world a better place than he left it, and has faith that he will.
