I struggled with it in my early to mid 20's. Finally realized no one has it figured out, everyone fail, there in't anyone I have to impress and started doing my own thing.

I think it's hardest for me when it involves someone I like or respect (friend, girlfriend, co-worker, etc)... I want them to like and respect me, and sometimes I say things and wonder if they took it the wrong way or if it's obvious they took it the wrong way it bothers me. Or even if they took it the right way and they didn't like it, even though I felt like I was right for saying or doing what ever bothered them.

I know, it has in the past... but it's part of who I am and how my mind works.. I've learned new ways of coping with it. Like venting on the OT.

Pretty good Philosophy in my opinion.

I do this as well. Unfortunately I've got a sticky "this may not be a good idea" warning flag that doesn't always function properly. I'm thankful for that, sometimes.

I'm a nihilist, but I'd say my actions are mostly informed by the golden rule, utilitarianism, and a healthy amount of self-indulgence.

Nah but seriously I like Immanuel Kant's Categorical Imperative.
The formulations:
1. "Act only according to that maxim whereby you can, at the same time, will that it should become a universal law"
Don't just treat people the way that you want to be treated. Act as if each of your actions sets the standard for all other actions. Should you litter? - it doesn't hurt anyone. No, unless you think everyone should litter.
2. "Act in such a way that you treat humanity, whether in your own person or in the person of any other, never merely as a means to an end, but always at the same time as an end."
Don't use people. Other people and their efforts are not means to a goal or end, they are themselves their own goals.
3. "Every rational being must so act as if he were through his maxim always a legislating member in the universal kingdom of ends."
Similar to formulation one but the rules and standards you create in formulation one must be universalizable or compatible with one another.
It's like the Golden Rule on steroids.

I live based on my belief in Jesus Christ as Savior and what is in accordance to His character as described by the Holy Scriptures (the Bible). Because I'm a sinner, I don't do this perfectly.
What this looks like: I love my neighbor as I love myself and treat all people like they are the image-bearers of God that they are. I forgive those who harm me and I ask forgiveness of those whom I harm.
I don't live for today, but for the life beyond this one. In doing so, I try to focus on my relationships with others. My goal is not self-indulgence, but to be a good husband to my wife, a good father to my daughter, a good son to my parents, a good sibling to mine, a good neighbor, a good citizen, and a good servant of Christ.
I don't view my life as my own, so I try to live that way.

Do no evil and take responsibility for my actions. Worked well enough so far.

Why do you live your life the way you do?
I act based in the issue of self interest, social conditioning, and personal emotions. Self interest is pretty self explanatory. Social conditioning would be from the laws of the land, to what my parents taught me was right. Personal emotions cover morality.

If you think you're going to regret not doing it later, do it.

I don't like when Christians qualify everything with this. It makes them sound pompous and sanctimonious.

The best things in life are often looked down upon by most.
