Read the actual article VnShaft. This isn't about deemphasizing winning. The coach cheated and got caught and either he or the press is trying to act like it's a 'everyone gets a sticker' scenario.

Nice math there man. Calling me unintelligent and you can't even read a number

Did I say "Pussification of America"?

All of these "pussifcation" posts all relate back to the same thing. "Durr America is being pussified". You don't have to type it all out for the message to be there

Exactly............except we used to get sno-cones

We got sno-cones if we retrieved a foul ball that went over the fence.....taught you to be fast, and willing to give up your body for the ball.

Look at our current situation with that camel fricker over in Iraq. Pacifism is not something to hide behind.

Oops, must have been at someone else's post count.

So in your 9,000+ then. But I'm sure you won't come up with anything intelligent in your next 2600 posts either

I'd rather them focus on individual skills at that age than winning or losing.

The Warriors cheated. The other teams followed the rules and played players that sucked.

This. Look at it from the perspective of the other teams. I'd be pissed as hell if I was following some asinine rule that I knew directly resulted in losing games and the team rolling over everybody including me wasn't following the same asinine rules. Level playing field and all.

My school got bludgeoned all the time growing up, we didn't care five minutes after the game. 8 year olds have short memories.

This. I played Tball and peewee football...we went undefeated in peewee, the same year didn't win a single tball game. I don't remember feeling much different...in fact I remember telling my dad that I don't understand why we got a trophy when we didn't win anything..I think he was extremely proud of me at that moment

I don't agree at all with requiring equal play time..kids need to learn that those who are the best at something succeed, it gives kids motivation to work hard and be the best.

I can understand punishing kids for losing, but this goes to far imo. Nobody should be forced to eat that

We cared very much about winning when I was 6 or 7, at least in soccer. But then our school had 2 teams so we were mainly ultra competitive against each other.

I wish it wasn't like that. At least for people that age.

I think it's sort of natural for boys. We really only cared about being better than the other team at our school.

I know it's natural, but what should most important in soccer at that age is just getting comfortable with the ball. It should be all about individual skill until they get older. Dribbling, passing, and shooting should be what is stressed. That is how our nation is going to get better at the sport.

I did, did you miss this part?

Rocchi also said an email from Basketball Ontario was sent in December clarifying the rules in question; Windsor said it didn’t get that message — and Rocchi noted he hadn’t seen it before last weekend…but rules had to be honored.
