This "Participation Trophy" "Self Esteem" bullshite in youth sports HAS TO STOP. Whenever I hear about some youth sports league that doesn't keep score, I wanna find whomever is running it, AND BEAT THEM TO DEATH IN FRONT OF THEIR PU$$Y CHILDREN.

Good for you Warriors, just because the kids on the teams you defeated will likely end up taking it up the arse doesn't mean you have to.

The Windsor Warriors were on their way.
The Canadian basketball team of 10-year-olds was powering through the Blessed Sacrament tournament recently, going undefeated and looking forward to an appearance in the championship game.
Then they got the bad news. They were disqualified.
An opposing coach noticed the Warriors weren’t giving equal playing time to everyone on the squad, among new “modified rules” that promote fun and “de-emphasize winning,” tournament head John Rocchi told TheSpec in Hamilton, Ontario.
But the Warriors didn’t take the disqualification lying down Sunday. Their parents reportedly made protest signs out of pizza boxes demanding “fair play,” and the players and their families assembled on the court at Cathedral High School and marched in a circle, holding their signs aloft and chanting “We want gold! We want gold!”
In the end, the Warriors’ protest shut down the tournament — the other teams packed up and went home…and the gold medal game was canceled.
Good for you Warriors, just because the kids on the teams you defeated will likely end up taking it up the arse doesn't mean you have to.

They don't care.
My school got bludgeoned all the time growing up, we didn't care five minutes after the game. 8 year olds have short memories.

I coached t-ball for both of my kids, we kept score, they care for about .5 seconds and then want to know if they still get a free coke.

I got bitched out when I was 9 for breaking my arm during baseball season.
Coach didn't like his pitcher being out for the season.

The Warriors cheated. The other teams followed the rules and played players that sucked.

I absolutely despise the 'nerf the world' trend.
But I think this kind of thing should depend on the league and the level.
As a 10 year old playing at the highest level of hockey playing time should not be equal. Players should learn, even at that age to accept their role on a team and contribute within that role.
But the kids playing A2 instead of AA really should get relatively equal playing time.
And for instance, church league and YMCA soccer should be an atmosphere that promotes fun and fairness. Find the competitive stuff by playing club.

This really isn't all that new. I'm almost 40 and up until about U10 every kid got a small trophy or certificate or something. Obviously the league winner got the big trophy. Every kid was required to see the field as well.

Did I say "Pussification of America"? No, I did not. Of your 12,000 + posts, you've yet to make a single intelligent statement that I've seen.
You really should kill yourself.

So one Canadian school matters because? This school knew they had to sub players for equal time and not doing so gave them an advantage over others in the tournament because those schools were playing by the rules. IOW they didn't play by the rules, got caught, and DQ'd. To put it bluntly, they cheated their way to those wins.
If you want to be mad at someone be mad at their coach. He screwed his team and the teams that lost to them who were playing fair by ignoring the rules.
