You can do this in New York. Does that mean New York is southern?

Everyone should care about history. But Missouri never joined the Confederacy. Are you trying to brag about starting the worst conflict in American History, then only participating in it slightly?
It is nothing to brag about, but Missouri citizens were not slight participants. I have ancestors that fought in the war. Some wearing grey and some in blue. It was a difficult time for many outside the Deep South. The heartbreak was color blind.

Crimson Poo-sade
You're a fricking retard, Crimson Poo-sade. Missouri experienced the 2nd most battles in the entire Civil War. I'd say that we most certainly participated in it.
God...Bama fans are fricking truly retarded!

In the American Civil War, Missouri was a border state that sent men, armies, generals, and supplies to both opposing sides, had its star on both flags, had separate governments representing each side, and endured a neighbor-against-neighbor intrastate war within the larger national war.
By the end of the Civil War Missouri had supplied nearly 110,000 troops to the Union and about 40,000 troops for the Confederate Army.
You left out some inconvenient truths.

Which does happen in the South, but is HEAVILY outweighed by people being proud of their heritage due to sheer ignorance.

sad but true. I'm very proud that my ancestors fought for the confederacy. My ancestor was a captain in the Confederate Army, was injured at atlanta, and walked the railroad tracks back to Mississippi after being paroled by the Yanks at Greensboro. He was a god damn man and I will always be very proud to share blood with that man.
That said, I'm not a racist, and would not fly the confederat flag not because I don't want to but because I don't want to offend african americans who might take it to mean I wish they were still slaves or some other such ignorant nonsense.
