Missouri is more "southern" than the south!
With the shite we started with Bleeding kansas and all, we are, in some sense, the South's daddy, so to speak.
And given our current seemingly unstoppable run of SEC championship games, it would appear that we still are.

From Wiki
"By the end of the Civil War Missouri had supplied nearly 110,000 troops to the Union and about 40,000 troops for the Confederate Army."
2.75:1 to the Yankees. Damn traitors.

Well, it's clear that after the Ferguson stuff, you guys are trying to emulate 1960's Birmingham.
Now that's dedication to being southern.

St. Louis was full of German immigrants and a lot of pro-Union sentiment there's no question of that, it was a large population center.
There was also a lot of conscripting into the Union army of potentially pro-Southern rural Missourians that went on though. Since the pussy Southern army couldn't even handle its own shite in that war much less lend us a helping hand, most Missourians had two options: get conscripted into the occupying Union army, or "black flag" it and become a non-army affiliated Rebel bushwhacker, who would be given no quarter.
The above stat on number of troops in the confederate army of course doesn't take into account all the black flagging Mizzouri Bushwhackers since they by definition were not part of the Confederate Army...but they were fighting against Yanks the whole time that's unquestioned.
