A check stub formonenperson you found two years ago doesn't mean they all don't pay taxes.

Guess what? The illegals in this state are proud to tell you that they are illegal. How else would I know that my neighbors are illegal? They are proud to thumb their nose at you and tell you that they are illegal. Look at what the Courts did to the illegal laws that this state and Arizona tried to enforce. Since when does an American citizen, who was doing something illegal, given Civil Rights? The illegal immigrants in this country are given more rights in this state and country than the people who are in this country, legally are. If an illegal kills a member of your family, and runs away, there is no chance in hell that you'll find them. Fingerprints, blood types, etc. are nonexistent. A friend of mine had an eleven year old killed in Birmingham by an illegal who was drunk. His daughter was on life support for two days before she was declared brain dead. The car that killed his daughter had two Jim Beam bottles that were completely empty. The illegal ran away and everything about the car he was driving was bogus. How to you hold an illegal accountable for the crimes that they commit, when they can't be traced? I just pray to God that you or your family has to suffer what my friend is going through. How can justice be served in this case? The illegals know that they can't be traced. Think about it. If your mom was killed by an illegal, how would you feel if there is nothing about them in the database? You need to stop and think why this country needs to deport these assholes who are here illegally.

You make a good point, the immigrants that built this country a century ago really wanted to assimilate into the growing American culture, seems a lot of Hispanics want to supplant the American culture with their own.

As long as America looks to illegals (or slaves) for cheap labor they are going to have to deal with the consequences

Once again, I find myself in the unusual position of sounding like a far left lib, but we aren't Europe, Africa, or Asia with a cultural history dating back thousands of years. The truth is that our culture is really a mix of what each group of immigrants brought over with them. If Hispanics want to retain a part of their cultural heritage, then good for them. The rest of us might just decide we like parts of it too.

Having said that, it should not be the responsibility of citizens to accommodate immigrants regardless of legal status. That means things like speaking English and expecting those immigrants to obey our laws.

This is exactly why I live here illegally and fly my American flag outside my window.

I'm getting them back for you, brother, don't worry. Taking their jobs and women.

Again, you're making sweeping generalizations based on an extremely small sample size. Are there illegals here that boast about it? Probably, though I've never encountered one. The vast majority are here trying to make a better life for themselves and their family.

Rounding them all up and deporting ain't going to solve a thing, not to mention it being logistically impossible. As someone else said, as long as companies are willing to hire and pay them, they'll keep coming.

Hell no. If they aren't here legally, ship their arse out on the next boat, plane, van, etc.

Amnesty only invites more lawlessness.

We need to secure our borders. Whether that is done with fences, alligator-filled moats, foot patrols, drones, or something else, I don't really care, but the fact that anyone can just walk right in and take up residence here without anyone knowing is not good.

Regarding the long waits to get in to the country, well, that's just what happens when everyone in the world wants to move here. We have to do the due-diligence to screen those wanting to come in or else the system is not much different than having open borders where people walk in unhindered. For those who want the process made easier, what about the current process do you disagree with and what would you do to fix it?

For those who are currently in the country, it would be practically impossible to try to hunt them all down and deport them. The best thing to do is to make it so that they want to leave on their own. That involves cutting off welfare benefits, limiting the medical care (stabilization only), really cracking down on employers who knowingly hire them, and stiffer penalties for those arrested without proof of citizenship or legal occupancy. If the money and benefits dry up, many will want to leave and many more will not be so hasty to try to come in illegally.
