Not yet, but I haven't been to Northern Alaska in years. The most northern point in the state would be the equivalent in distance (from me) as Atlanta is from Ely Minnesota.
Big damn state.

Alaska is one of the most beautiful states in the country though. Denali is definitely on my bucket list.

Perdido Key is on HGTV right now for those that are interested...

Holy frick, Perdido Key is cheap.

Some of my relatives used to have a condo in Perdido Key and we'd vacation there every summer. I can't speak much to the town because I was young, but the beaches were very nice.
After I graduate in May I'll be moving down to Pensacola for my job and I'm happy to get back to that area. Always liked it.
As for the OP's question, I'd have to say Austin, TX. Seems like a really cool city and they get all the best music festivals.

Kansas City, MO. It's my hometown and a place that makes me happy to live in. I can honestly say that's the place on earth that I would choose first to live in.

The S.E. alone where I live is the size of Florida, but riddled with fjords and only 70,000 residents. Probably as many bears as people.

Madison, WI is solid and would be a great place to settle. Loved visiting my bro there. Winter gets to be a bit of a bitch, I guess.

Just spent my first time in southern California. This place is nice.
It truly is.
Needs about 10 million fewer people.
In 1955, I would have moved there in a heartbeat.
I'd move to San Luis or Santa Barbara now if money were no object.
I hate traffic and long commutes.

I fell into a Wikipedia hole after I watched a movie awhile back about this pilot that crashed in north Canada.
So Nunavut, if it was a country, would be the 15th biggest country by area in the world. Just over 30,000 people live there.
Granted, most of it is uninhabitable, but still.

That's kinda how it feels to live in Texas. El Paso is closer to the Pacific Ocean than it is to Dallas.

To be fair, it's not just west Texas. It's kinda like that across the whole southwest.
But damn, some beautiful country.
ETA: a buddy of mine grew up in Odessa. Wow.

S.E. Ak is beautiful, and inhabitable. It's probably the rain that keeps the population low, but it's very similar to coastal Norway. In fact, there's a town full of Norwegian ancestry 100 miles South of here. Fishing village.
