Godzilla was awesome, especially the final 30 minutes

22 Jump Street was the funniest movie I've seen in years

Cap 2 was damn good

Neighbors was pretty funny just not as funny as I thought it would be

Same here. Especially with some of the lame ones that were mentioned.

The last movie that I saw in theaters was Dallas Buyers Club... and I smuggled in a pint of bourbon and got shmammered whilst watching it.

The last movie that I hated was Noah. Was way to long, the story was kinda wonky, and I did not enjoy it.

The last DVD is hated was The Wolverine. So boring. I love the character, but damn.

Right now, I'm going through all of the Wes Anderson films. One of my favorite directors. I've seen The Fantastic Mr. Fox, Life Aquatic, and Moonrise Kingdom. I've got the Darjeeling Limited recorded Sunday.

Yeah The Wolverine was pretty boring. I turned it off before it finished.

Same with Skyfall. I don't get the hype around it.

I was on a ten hour flight to Barcelona and still couldn't bring myself to finish it. That's how bored I was by it.

None of the stand alone Wolverine movies are good.

I did enjoy the Amazing Spider Man 2 this year. I know that it was not the best, but it was fun. The soundtrack was awesome. The way that Electro's soundtrack was his mind telling him to kill Spider Man. I get chills everytime. I believe it was Hans Zimmer who did the music too.

I liked SpiderMan 2 ok but it got a little too Sam Raimi Spiderman3 at the end.

Aside from that, great soundtrack, great score, great acting (Garfield and Stone work amazingly), great visuals, but terrible plot.

Exactly how I feel.

The emo scene from SpiderMan 3.

Choreographic, cinematic, and costume gold right there.

That scene is so bad. I really like Venom, but they ruined that movie.

I'm not a fan of any of the Spiderman movies. Even the first two Raimi films are overrated imo. Tobey Maquire was the least convincing superhero ever and I cringe during all of the "romantic" scenes.

Godzilla was a great monster movie and I can't wait to see 22 Jump Street. It'll be tough to beat This is the End as funniest movie though.

Bump on the end of summer blockbusters

Just rounded out the summer by taking the kids to TMNT.

Pretty solid all around. The only major ones I have to leave off are Transformers and Godzilla because I never got around to them. I was pretty impressed with a lot of stuff Hollywood had this year. Ranking the ones I saw

CA:WS
GotG
Edge of Tomorrow
XMEN DOFP
How to Train Your Dragon 2
22 Jump Street
Dawn of PoA
Amazing Spider-Man 2
Planes 2
TMNT
Earth to Echo
America (I saw it so I guess it counts?)

You could honestly interchange any of the top 7 and I wouldn't even notice. Solid lineup.

I haven't watched a movie in a theater since Superbad.

Which might correspond with when I signed up on TD.

That was the most recent one, right? My only criticism was that it didn't feel Bond-like enough for me. It was a mix between Jason Bourne and Batman. Which was cool, but Bond shouldn't be the broken hero that rebuilds himself. He should be the cunning hero who may get in over his head but is always smooth and charming. It just wasn't what I wanted.

Guardians was awesome, maybe better than The Avengers. It had the perfect mix of comedy, drama and superhero geek factor.

And motherfricking Howard the Duck

Guardians was fantastic. On all accounts.

If I didn't like Captain America's story so much combined with the fact that Winter Soldier was just outstanding it'd probably be my favorite comic movie not named Dark Knight.

XMEN was an outstanding effort as well. I would think we'd be in comic movie fatigue by now but the efforts this summer were top notch.
