Doesn't it seem like every time HBO has one of their own movies or shows, there's always a gay character? I just saw a preview of a movie they're doing with Julia Roberts and it's about a gay something-or-other.

I don't have a problem with gays. You do your thing, I'll do mine. But why do we have to have it shoved down our throat every day? By their own statistics gays make up 10% of the population yet they are represented close to 100% in Hollywood.

I think this can backfire to their cause because of "gay fatigue".

I had a guy who was doing some work for me. I knew he was gay but we never discussed it. First deadline came up and he told me he was going to miss it because of personal relationship problems with his gay lover. I don't care what the problem is. You missed a deadline. If you're going to miss it, just tell me. I don't need to know the gay reason for it.

Lastly can you even say all this without being called a homophobe? I doubt it.

Don't see it as shoving it down your throat...

Modern family has a gay couple on it, and they're hilarious.

It does seem like they are forcing some kind of subliminal message. I think there is a point where it gets annoying. Because that specific couple (if we are talking about say a show like 6 feet under with Michael S.) is usually the one who is shown EVERY time as doing the most display of affection in whatever they are in.

It will eventually get to the point where the ratings drop. Nobody wants blatant, forced gay shite on a high budget production.

People(for the most part) are getting over the stigma that gays are evil.

Feel free to stay behind with your "gays will burn in hell" sign.

Well the deadline part I understand, but the rest of the message clearly paints you as a homophobe. Typically, when someone says "I don't have a problem with gays", they usually do. If you didn't have a problem with gays it wouldn't make a difference or may not stand out as much as it does.

You know you can change the channel right?

If it was a problem with his wife you wouldn't be bothered?

To be fair, on Six Feet Under, Michael probably had the most stable love life.

I don't see it as shoving it down our throats as much as they're not very restrictive when it comes to violence, sexual behavior, etc. And for some shows, like Game of Thrones, those relationships already existed in the non-HBO source material. I also think people tend to hone in on the shows that show it while HBO has perfectly good shows that don't like True Detective, Boardwalk Empire, or Silicon Valley.

I'm pretty sure Game of Thrones hit piracy and viewing records this last weekend. HBO isn't going anywhere.

This is the knee jerk reaction I expect whenever someone straight says something about gays.

Another one. So I can't say anything about gays without having a problem with them? Are you the guy who says, "If you have a problem with Obama, you're a racist"?

The PC police is killing free speech in this country. You see willingness for dialogue as an attack.

Game of Thrones is a book first which is where the material is drawn from. So that isn't on HBO

*sigh*

Free Speech refers to the government not arresting/punishing you for speech. The consequences of people's reactions to your speech isn't limiting your right to speech.

No not at all. Obama has given everyone enough reason to not like him. I didn't take it as an attack at all. I replied to your last question about your post making you seem like a homophobe. I was just conversing my opinion based on your post.

If anything, there is too much straight sex on HBO.

The show is wildly popular on HBO. So yes, it's "on there".

But once again, it seems you have a little bit of tunnel vision. They have some very good shows (and always have) that doesn't have "100% homosexuals".

I was referring to the PC police. As in, you can't say anything that offends without being labeled a hater of some kind. That attitude stops dialogue and makes some people afraid if they bring up something not considered "pc" they will be frowned upon.

Which this clearly has.

Wait, so just because a larger majority disagree with your point of view your automatic response is to cry that they are killing your freedom of speech? It's called a rebuttal try having one.

The fact that you are to dumb to change the channel when viewing something you disagree with concerns me or could it be that the gay sex is so secretly appealing to you that you must continue to watch?
